snagged in outlet 3 Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 I live just north of there a few miles and everything around here frozen. Gotta be the same at Busch. SIO3
patfish Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 Agreed, I live in the deep south of STL and my pond which has a very small spring that feeds it is only open water at the north end - most sun and where the spring feeds it. To fish. Drive you must.

SIO3 Yep, not worth getting a thick coat of limestone paste all over the vehicle just to see. Got to be frozen like every other duck pond around but it sure would be some 'cabin fever' relief if it would thaw out soon!
ozark trout fisher Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 I think you all will get your ice-out soon enough with the temps they're predicting.

Members T Hood Posted February 17, 2011 Members Posted February 17, 2011 With all of this wonderful weather, how are things in St. Charles County? Is it worth a trip out? Or have the so-called "Cheese Bandits" fished all the trout from Lakes 21 & 28?
Greasy B Posted February 19, 2011 Posted February 19, 2011 The word I got yesterday was that the fish are biting and the poachers are catching. His father touches the Claw in spite of Kevin's warnings and breaks two legs just as a thunderstorm tears the house apart. Kevin runs away with the Claw. He becomes captain of the Greasy Bastard, a small ship carrying rubber goods between England and Burma. Michael Palin, Terry Jones, 1974
Members T Hood Posted February 20, 2011 Members Posted February 20, 2011 The word I got yesterday was that the fish are biting and the poachers are catching. I went out there today just to check things out. People are catching fish. Powerbait in Lake 21. Lake 24, for being small, was loaded with trucks in the lot. May go out tomorrow; I may not. It's just not the same as November. Would I be better off getting a pass from the wife and heading to St. James?
mhall02 Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 Hit 21 with my son today. Baited him up with rainbow powerbatit and he nearly limited out in less than an hour. We took three home and let a dink go for someone else to catch. I cast my jig a few times but mainly focused on him, he is 5 and I think I now have a trout fishing buddy. The line would start to move out and I would tell him to reel it in, and he did. Good times!!
