A friend forwarded pictures of Shangri La Marina on Grand lake. The weight of the snow took several docks under - with boats and all - and collapsed roofs on top craft as well. News reports indicate Ugly John's had the same problems. Did any of the marinas North of here at LOZ or elsewhere have similar problems?

The local media is pretty much crippled here at the lake. I haven't heard any reports, but I would not be surprised if a few commercial and several residential docks bit the bullet. Fishinwrench needs to report in to give us an update. I have part interest in a dock on the big niangua that I am unable to check on. Snow loads, ice, and the falling lake levels are sudden death to alot of docks. Maybe the wind kept alot of the snow off the roofs. Hopefully no one was injured in the collapse of the oklahoma docks. It is not uncommon here, for workers to be on the docks, trying to remove the snow as it accumulates.

I've seen local Marina owners on their dock roofs shoveling snow and chipping ice and thought how dangerous that is, but these are the results if they don't get up there and keep up with the additional weight. A couple of those pictures, numbers 5 and 15 look like the docks were allowed to go aground due to low water conditions. Thanks for posting and glad this missed TR, although not by much.

Columbia,Mo TV station reported that a lot of docks at the Lake of The Ozarks were heavily damaged.
