Members Scudz Rule Posted April 8, 2011 Members Posted April 8, 2011 I would like to than Gavin, Notrad, Ozark Trout fisher, and OKFlyFisher44 for their nice comments. I think those are the only ones that I have gotten in this forum, kinda nice for a change. That rainbow was caught not far below the Park, with one of my sons Sculpin Flies he tied. He somehow kept it out of the tree wad he caught it in. Estimated 7 lbs, by measurements. As you can see it "GOT GUT". He released it, so now it's probably about 8-10 lbs, so go catch that slob:-) We usually try to fish the current at least once every month of the year. That's one advantage of a Spring Creek, it can be fished year round. We like our fires as much as fishing. We usually walk in to camp on the river. The pic is from our last trip, our TWO-Headed Fire. :on-fire2: Peace fellow Anglers. http://hatchesmagazine.com/blogs/hatchestest/2010/01/15/the-chubby-muffin-by-nick-granato/ A real nice Sculpin Pattern JMO.. can be tied with different head, I like the spun Craft Fur. I prefer more olive and tanish, like our Sculpins in MO. Markers are a great thing to add to your tying kit. It's easy to tie, and looks great in the water.
Trout Commander Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 Can you please explain your "winning, Duh post. It's ok if it's bad, or a put down, I just don't understand where your coming from? I'm an Angler, not a English Professor. Never have liked how people attack others in a Forum, for mis spelt words, or poor grammar. You can PM it to me if you like. Sincerely, Scudz I am sorry Scudz, I meant "winning duh" as a compliment, as in you guys were definitely winning by catching the fish pictured. It was my attempt at a humorous continuation of what I thought were Charlie Sheen references (trout blood instead of tiger blood). It's not that I don't like you, i guess it's just not that I am as funny as I think I am . http://www.facebook....205807269431520 http://www.cnbc.com/id/42404965 Man give me a break. you know I meant 22". As gavin would say " I was with John Barleycorn." Sorry, another attempt at humor - If everyone pointed out my type-o's Phil wouldn't have any bandwidth left It seems by your 2 posts, you don't like me, that's cool I am sorry that I have made you feel this way. I hope you understand that it was a miscommunication and on my end for that matter. The first post was indeed a compliment. You posted pictures of you guys catching fish that I dream of catching. My name is Jason, and I, like you, find it exponentially more rewarding to catch fish on the fly. I think we would get along great (on here as long as I make my posts more clear and) on the river just the same. If we ever get the chance to fish together I would consider it an honor, and I will bring John Barleycorn. Just to clarify - there is no sarcasm in my apologies. I have spent most of my money on fly fishing and beer. The rest I just wasted. The latest Trout Commander blog post: Niangua River Six Pack
Nortrad Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 Man oh man, what a rainbow! I've considered taking on the Chubby Muffin streamer. Have to get some craft fur though, hmmm....

Perhaps we can fish together someday:-) Thank you for follow-up. I think you were doing the right thing, bringing humor to this. I just need to lighten up. I know what it's like, to be miss understood. I bet the Caddis are poppin like mad right now. Peace Bro, Your name rules! Trout Commander FTW!!! Just to clarify - there is no sarcasm in my apologies.

I think Scudz may not follow the garbage tabloid news that closely, and good for him...but he does sound a lot like the real-life Rick Vaughn.
Kayser Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Wait, so how long is that rainbow? Pretty sure I had a run in with him this past weekend, but he wound up winning this round. Have an estimate in mind, just want to see how long he actually is. And as far as there being fewer big fish in the River, I've only been fishing it for about 5-6 years, and the big ones definitely seem to have disappeared, both size and numbers decreasing compared to when I first started going. Used to be able to find several 18-22" fish in a particular hole, and at least one good one in almost every hole, but no more. I haven't seen any otters or otter tracks (plenty of raccoon, though) along the upper stretches of the river, but have found plenty of bait containers and footprints compared to the past. On a side note, do the stocker browns seem smaller this year? I caught a few in the 4-5" range, and saw a lot more like them. Thinking they'll only be food for the remaining trophy browns within a couple months... Rob WARNING!! Comments to be interpreted at own risk. Time spent fishing is never wasted.
FishinCricket Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Welcome back, Scudz... Nice fish pics, your son is a hell of an angler... I see your rants are a little more legible these days... Could a tiger truly change his stripes, or are you poised to go nutbag zealot gonzo at the first mention of (insert caustic topic here)...? Either way, glad to see your still down there scaring off all the ninnies around Tan Vat... KOOKOO!!! cricket.c21.com
