abkeenan Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 Can anyone recommend a good, accurate yet inexpensive digital scale? Say around $30? Don't need all the culling features and stuff just one that will give me an accurate weight reading. -Brett
Nitroman Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 Check out the RAPALA line of DIGITAL SCALES. I have used them since they were 1st. introduced. Very accurate & reliable. You should be able to find one that will fit your needs. Rock View Resort Table Rock Lake Greg Pope, Owner/Operator & Fishing Guide
Whack'emGood Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 +1 on the Rapala scales. Not expensive, and always accurate and reliable for me. "Success builds confidence, and you have to learn to trust your instincts and forget about fishing the way a tournament is supposed to be won. I'm going to fish my style and make it work for me." -KEVIN VANDAM "Confidence is the best lure in your tackle box." -GERALD SWINDLE "A-Rig? Thanks, but no thanks. If I can't catch them on the conventional tackle that I already use, then I guess I just can't catch them." -LK (WHACK'EM)
Flippin Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 I tested my Rapala digital scale about a year ago against a postal scale. The Rapala scale gave the same wgt as the postal scale.
dtrs5kprs Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 Rapala is in my dry box. Only thing I have noticed is its ability to eat batteries even if you manually power off. Might just be the one I have.
abkeenan Posted March 29, 2011 Author Posted March 29, 2011 Thanks as usual fellas. Looks like I'll go with the Rapala.
techo Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 another vote here too. same batteries for three years. Tim Carpenter
Members sticksteer Posted March 30, 2011 Members Posted March 30, 2011 I bought the Bass Pro Shop digital scale for $20 . . . . . I weighed about everything I could find in our household that had a specific weight marked on it by the manufacturer . . . . examples: 5 lb bag of sugar, 1 lb of butter, 12oz box of cereal, 10 lb bag of potatoes, 2 lb pkg of bacon, etc . . . . . every item I weighed registered "3 ounces over on the scale" - no matter whether it was heavy or light, every object was + 3 ounces . . . . very accurate, just subtract 3 ounces on each fish :-)

The rest I just wasted. The latest Trout Commander blog post: Niangua River Six Pack
