Can anyone recommend a good, accurate yet inexpensive digital scale? Say around $30? Don't need all the culling features and stuff just one that will give me an accurate weight reading.

Check out the RAPALA line of DIGITAL SCALES. I have used them since they were 1st. introduced. Very accurate & reliable. You should be able to find one that will fit your needs.

+1 on the Rapala scales. Not expensive, and always accurate and reliable for me.

"A-Rig? Thanks, but no thanks. If I can't catch them on the conventional tackle that I already use, then I guess I just can't catch them." -LK (WHACK'EM)

I tested my Rapala digital scale about a year ago against a postal scale. The Rapala scale gave the same wgt as the postal scale.

Rapala is in my dry box. Only thing I have noticed is its ability to eat batteries even if you manually power off. Might just be the one I have.

Thanks as usual fellas. Looks like I'll go with the Rapala.

I bought the Bass Pro Shop digital scale for $20 . . . . . I weighed about everything I could find in our household that had a specific weight marked on it by the manufacturer . . . . examples: 5 lb bag of sugar, 1 lb of butter, 12oz box of cereal, 10 lb bag of potatoes, 2 lb pkg of bacon, etc . . . . . every item I weighed registered "3 ounces over on the scale" - no matter whether it was heavy or light, every object was + 3 ounces . . . . very accurate, just subtract 3 ounces on each fish :-)

I think you just had it set to "fish story" mode

I have spent most of my money on fly fishing and beer. The rest I just wasted.
