steveearle Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 The darn is only going to release about 30,000 for now. That is only about 1/3 more than full generation. It is not expected to peak (based on data at 5:00 on 4-25-11) until Friday at about 927.5. They may drastically increase flow in Taneycomo once the rain stops and the feeder creeks withdrawn on Taney. The Corps are trying to not flood Taney if at all possible. The debris in the lake is unreal, BE CAREFUL OUT THERE! Its already at 926.4 and coming up 4" per hour...Based on today's pace, I thought you might see 933 all over again.

Based on the current levels and flows, especially with increase in projected flows from ALL the major creeks, we might see 715 on Taney and 93? on the Rock, who knows ! These guys also built a multi million dollar "just in case spillway" So they might never know until after the fact. Honestly, they have a tough job with endless variables, The corps will try to do what they can with what they have. B. Foz
Bill Babler Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 We are approaching 930, and I just heard from one of the Pro's that 265 across the dam closed because of Mud Slides. Where is this going. How can they possibly get this tournament off. With the way down town is and no access this is on humdinger. It i 5 AM and I am getting ready to see if T and I can catchem. Maybe. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
getfished Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 I believe BASS may be meeting with the Water District this morning. As far as I know the permits are still up. I wish I was there. I fished some Heartland stuff a couple years ago when it was like this and it was a whackfest. Seems like just a few days ago the lake was a foot or so low and suddenly it's on the move. http://www.tacklespecialty.com/
techo Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 Fishing would be fun, if you can get on the lake somewhere and keep out of the debris! Picked a bad week to take off for fishing Tim Carpenter

The word from BASS to the anglers there this morning is that they are rethinking there decision to go ahead with the Tournament and will make there decision by 9am and let them know if they will cancel or go ahead with the Tournament
Donna G Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 There's a story posted on BASS last night at 11:23 that says it's still on with some adjustments. http://sports.espn.go.com/outdoors/tournaments/opens/news/story?page=opens_2011_CO2_suchan_storms_table_rock Donna Gilzow Bella Vista, Arkansas The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope. --John Buchan, 1915
johnboy2bfishin Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 that is what i read donna, just checked it again still the same, haven't heard if they are still at state park or going somewhere else. anybody hear of where they are going if any
Bill Babler Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 Thought I could fish this morning if I could find a ramp. Put in at the steep ramp at Viola. Water temps at Big M. at 56.7 with plenty of muddy current. Visibility at 3 inches. From the shore out about 10 ft. just a mat of leaves and debris. Could not get either a jig or a blade thru it at all. Fished 2 hrs. in the cold muddy water without a bite. 6 of the guide buddy's out since 6:30 AM. As of now at 9:20 no one has had a bite. Water depth on the locations I was catching them a few days ago is 28 to 32 ft. Cold and Muddy. Could not get a bite on the old bank line at all. This will be far from a wackfest, if they have it, which is in doubt. The lake is totally clogged with floaters and debris. I believe there is a huge safety issue. Even where I thought it would be better up the White River, there are floaters everywhere, that are just visible and could destroy a boat. The fish could move up by Thursday and it could get better, but the safety issue will still remain. Be safe out there. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
wdberkley Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 BASS's home page now states: "Continued storms in the Table Rock Lake drainage has forced the Army Corp of Engineers to revoke the license for the Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Central Open. Story to come." http://sports.espn.go.com/outdoors/bassmaster/index
