flytyer57 Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 This is the last I'll say on it and then I gotta get out of this office and go fish. Good. Then I won't get into the points you missed about the petition. There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.
Greg Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 Aside from that . . . That was the biggest joke of a petition I ever saw. 1) It was collected on an internet forum, 2) delivered to a Newton County Sheriff whose job it is to enforce the law and keep the peace -- not to make laws or interpret gray areas of law -- so it was delivered to the wrong authority, and finally, 3) it was delivered by a person whose primary motive for going to meet the Sheriff in the first place was to clear up the warrant for his own arrest! Extending himself on behalf of my rights to fish . . . .????? :donwan: Regarding the petition - I don't pretend to know all the ins and outs of legal matters like this. BUT at least Chief did something. That's more than most of can say we would have done in his place. I didn't sign the petition because I missed it. But I certainly would have even now despite your assertion that it is a "joke". You forgot each post, even mine that was deleted, started with the phrase "I believe" from the Blue Collar Comedy Tour. That gave it all the creditability it needed in his neck of the woods. Next petition should start "Hold my beer and watch this" to seal the deal of legal precedence. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. BTW CWF, I never took one piece of paper with me when I spoke with the Sheriff in person. C'mon. I never made accusations of wrongdoing of anybody. It is well documented you are full of it. eric1978 Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Hah! Took you long enough to reply. You all tied up with community service? If this is the punishment for "trespassing" on a public waterway, then I'm fixin' to do some "trespassing" right soon.
Amish Bill Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Hmmmm. Why were you rolling camera and keeping it concealed? So, who was it in the boat doing all the talking? I'm guessing Cricket. There were instances of just plain being a smart azz, like 'if it makes you feel bigger', interrupting the guy (deputy?) to repeatedly ask who the agent was, and asking if the prosecutor was also a CA. Folks on the bank were keeping pretty cool throughout though. I guess Britt is Chief, and there's a history? Do you just know Chief 'from the internet', or was that a bit of a stretch? Why press the point with '2-inches of water', etc. When did the 'you'll be in a world of hurt' quoted in the earlier thread get said and by whom/to whom? I don't know any of you guys, but I know something about your personalities here. I had a suspicion that there was some yakkin' going on, but I took you at your word. So, I called the Sheriff, gave my name, work number and asked him to see that this situation gets corrected. Prolly would have passed on it if I'd have seen this first. Thank you Ness...You put to words exactly what I thought!! "Life's too short to fish with a dead minner..."
ness Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 You're welcome, AB. Cricket and others pretty much answered the questions in the later posts. Chief, Eric -- simmer down boys, I'm not looking to get into it. Glad you got to/gonna get to fish. John
Flysmallie Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Yeah boys, simmer down before Ness gets his panties all in a wad again. Or tells the teacher. Ness you sure do throw out a lot of accusations about s*** you know nothing about. Here's a little idea for ya Stud. Actually part of it is in your signature line. "Think, type, think, type, think, edit , post" If you could just leave out the part where you post this would be a better place.
