johnboy2bfishin Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 went out sunday put in at aunts about 5:30 started with fin spook and blade. nothing not even a looker water wasn't the best for top water but figured the blade would be the ticket(wrong). by 7:30 was backed out draggin jig, dr. and tube. never got a bite. fished til about 11. was a very humbling day on the rock. i think i will stay around dam. water a little better for my taste and the bite is alot better. wish i had a good report but sorry didn't produce any results
johnm Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 I understand that completely. I am the only one in my family(out of the in-laws) that fish. I hate to make that walk up from the dock to say" nope didn't catch any fish! Lol" but it actually makes me smile as I head back to the dock. Seems like I always learn more on the days I don't catch fish! An old man from kimberling city told me" once you think you know what your doing, table rock will spank you! Lol better than work I guess
johnboy2bfishin Posted May 24, 2011 Author Posted May 24, 2011 how true that is the rock can knock you down but thats why they call it fishin not catching
johnm Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 True for sure! Sometimes when the fishin gets tough I switch to cooler fishing :-)
Champ188 Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 Happens to all of us, johnboy. Hang in there. You'll get em next time.
johnboy2bfishin Posted May 24, 2011 Author Posted May 24, 2011 thanks Champ188 and johnm for the support plan on going back out tomorrow and givem hell again. i think i might fish around darn area. i will give a report when i get back. is anyone catching them in the backs of creeks or all main and secondary points
Ham Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 Sounds like Table Rock to me. I have some great trips with cajun angler and then some terrible trips. Very frustrating. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
techo Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 My good friend johnboy......everyone knows there aren't hardly any fish in Aunt's Creek! I think I have had more days of fishing than catching on Table Rock....but never a bad one yet! It is nice to see another guy post what didn't work as it reduces the amount of water you have to cover to find what is working. It gives others a better chance at succeeding. Thanks for the report! Jason Essary Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 John, just remember. Every once and awhile the rock will repay you with the best day imaginable. Second, as Bill says, normally if your not catching fish on the rock, they are behind you. Happened to me last week. Fished 12 to 18 foot range with nothing, turning around on the same point, but the boat in 32 and caught 5.
