Members JGarland Posted May 25, 2011 Members Posted May 25, 2011 Anyone have any big fishing plans this coming weekend? I think I am going to canoe St Francis from Gruner Ford to Sinet, kind of nervous about it as I am not sure what is in store for me. Givin the information Al gave me it sounds like I should make it alright. Barring we don't get a bunch of rain and the river gets way up I think I am going to give it a try. Members JGarland Posted May 25, 2011 Author Members Posted May 25, 2011 What kind of info? Will I need a scale? Is this a trip I can make alone? Will I be able to lug the canoe and gear alone if I need to? flytyer57 Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 Anyone have any big fishing plans this coming weekend? Only if the water levels go down so I don't have to fish from the parking lot or the road. There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.

Members JGarland Posted May 26, 2011 Author Members Posted May 26, 2011 Well with the river being up now, my plans are cancelled "The finest gift you can give to any fisherman is to put a good fish back, and who knows if the fish that you caught isn't someone else's gift to you?" Lee Wulff

cwc87 Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 I live in the Crawford county area and Just seen the meramec and it is muddy However, its two tributaries are clear with a swift current the Huzzah and Courtois. The head waters are a good choice with all the rainfall the past 3 weeks.
jdmidwest Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 Creeks are all muddy in this area. I have the boat hooked up and taking the daughter out in the morning when she gets here, weather permitting. Gonna try Duck Creek or Wappapello on Sunday, have to make a trip there for other reasons. Hopefully Monday, it will have warmed up and the creeks have cleared up enough for a wading trip or a short float. Saturday is still iffy, looks like 20mph wind again and chance of thunderstorms, just like all of the last 5 or 6 Saturdays have been. It is 59 here and sprinkling as I type, been cloudy and cold for the last 2 days. I have not seen the sun since the Tornado's blew thru on Wed.
