Looking For My Cousin In Joplin

All,

I'm hoping some of you might have advice on how to locate my cousin in Joplin, MO. Sadly, I cannot get through on his home phone and I've lost his sister-in-law's phone number.

Here's what I do know, my cousin is Wayne Johnson, and last address I had was on Mina, but that was probably 15 years ago or more. Wayne's brother was Bernie Johnson who passed away around 2007-2008. His wife Sharon moved and I lost the address. Sharon was a professor at one of the southern MO colleges/universities before she moved.

Any thoughts or advice on how I might learn more is deeply appreciated. Please, no beating me up for not keeping up with them, I got enough guilt to cover that. :TT-TT:

Thanks to all who reply.

Hey Charlie,

Sorry to hear that. The news reports are saying it's been very difficult to track people down. Google may zero you in on a site or sites that are tracking people. I think I heard there are Red Cross and Facebook sites to help.

Good luck.

John

Mina ave is out by shiffendecker park and Belle center. I believe that area was spared by the tornado. But they might have moved , like you said that was 15 years ago. Heres a missing persons link : http://wyhighonline.info/JoplinDB/list.php

I heard on the radio, the local radio station is taking calls looking for missing family. Try the Red Cross. By now, they should have an active list.

Here is 1 Facebook link that might help. http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/pages/In-Memory-of-Joplin-MO-Tornado-Victims-5222011/100243786734840

The biggest problem is that there are still a bunch of people without power and cell phone reception is still a little iffy, but if someone knows them you might get a response.

Good Luck

The Red Cross website has a link for searching of missed ones. www.safeandwell.org is the website and I think there is a local number that starts with 659 on that website as well.

Thank you all who responded, just knowing that there are people who take the time to post a reply is deeply appreciated. My cousin and his family are fine, as the story goes, the tornado hopped over his place damaging trees but the house is fine and everyone is safe.

Warm wishes to all for a safe and enjoyable Memorial day weekend.
