Nice to see a real spirit of conservation. Wish everyone applied this philosophy. Last month I put my little jet in @ the Taney dam ramp with my brother just to see how Taney had changed after 10 gates. Launching and taking out of that ramp is an adventure onto itself, but as I was driving on the trailer I counted 12 Smallies by the ramp that had the filet knifes put to em. Bro' talk about something that will turn your stomach....Most of them looked between 13-15"..........Roger

I am all for tourney fishing, but wished it was a catch and photo thing. I HATE when guys catch a female off her nest, drag her 20 miles away for hours only to be released miles from her nest. I have personally seen this happen time and time again in May.

I was wondering how much of a temperature drop is needed in the livewells (ie adding ice) to help the fish. About what temp do we need to keep the well for the best results?? I was thinking of installing a thermometer in the livewells to help with keeping my fish alive. But how cool is to much?? any thoughts :huh1:

Catch-N-Release only in the month of May would be a great thing but it will probably never happen

I was at Hook Line and Sinker in Rogers today and Chris has just made a bunch of the weights I was telling you guys about. They are selling them if anyone wants some. I think they are 2 for 3.39. And Bill is right on as always, mostly used for deep caught fish, but they will help with stressed fish as well. Nothing is ever 100%, but I try to do all I can to keep 'em alive. Anyways, just thought I would pass along that they have some if anyone is interested.

Hate the idea of dead fish floating. Im with Bill, filet them, give them away or dispose of them. Hurting the face of fishing by leaving them floating is a discrace. I have been fishing the Millcreek Night derbys for awhile now. Joe does a great job of preaching ice and rejuv. powder. No dead fish are allowed to weigh-in. Period. Wish all tourneys were this way.

I have watch these guys after the weigh-in, put their boat back in the water just to go net one floater, bring her back to get her going better and then but the boat back on the trailer. Just for ONE fish. The fish swam away happy afterwards. Now I understand that after a few hours there might be a few that die from stress, but there really is no way of dealing with that, but to leave with fish floating, in my mind they should get a warning to have their permits revoked. Just my thoughts.

+1 on Joe and the boys. Those guys really care (as do I) about taking care of the fish. They do a great job... some of these tourney organizers could learn more than a thing or two from Joe.
