Gitnby has got you fixed up. Big Time

Won't beat the location at Schooner Creek and for sure not the guide service. That is just about as good as you can get on the Rock. Bill Beck will show you how and where. Stop by Harter House at the top of the Hill for some Quality Steaks and you simply got a dream week.

Good Luck

While you're at Harter House, ask the butcher for some Tri-Tips. They'll roll it in either Garlic or Southwest seasoning for ya. Figure on 1 Tri-Tip for 2 people.

Great the next day for sandwiches if you can't handle that much red meat at one meal.

Cooking instructions are on the package, but I like to do em on the grill.(don't think Schooner Creek has ovens anyway?) Build a good, hot fire to one side, sear em over the coals on each side for about 5-10 minutes, then put em fat side up off the fire, and then close the lid and drink anywhere from 3-10 beers, depending on the thickness of the cut. :D (Usually anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour and 15) You want it to be medium rare in the middle. Let it set for a few minutes and then slice it just like a loaf of bread into 1/2" pieces. Great just like that, or on a dollar roll with a little Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce!

The next day, take a leftover piece, wrap it in a wet paper towel and microwave it for 30 seconds or so.

Cheaper per pound than most steaks and every bit as good or better!

Now I am hungry and want to go fishing with Beck. This forum is tough on a guy. I would third Beck. Never seen him without a smile. Of course I wasnt there when Babler threw the keeper out during a tourney. :hope-my-fake-smile-works-again:

Hunter, would also strongly recommend you hire a guide for a day. This old lake can be tough as concrete nails in mid-August but fish can still be caught. Beck's as good as they come, and so is Babler. Don House is also a darn good deep-water guide. Couldn't go wrong with any of them.
