Members Hef
I am in the market for a yak to use on streams and rivers in the area for fishing, went to Dynamic Earth today in Springfield and checked a few out. The Jackson Coosa really caught my eye, do any of you own one? It has some really nice featues and looks like it would really fit my needs. They had the Tarpon too and it is a really nice rig. looking for some feedback on the Jackson Coosa.....anyone/ Thanks
jdmidwest
I would go with the Tarpon, have not heard much good about the Coosa. It seems like they got some good hype off the bat but failed to impress later on. The Tarpon is a great product, paddles and fishes well in most Ozark streams and lakes. It handles well in the current of the streams and the hull design tracks well in the lakes. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Justin Spencer
We have one guy who comes down and has a Coosa he loves it, his only complaint is the cup holder makes it hard to put your beer in when the seat is in the down position. We have a few ordered (big wait) and while I haven't been in one they have lots of nice thought out features that many models don't offer. We have jackson Riviera's that we rent and they are well built. Visited the factory in Tenn. last year and it's a well run home grown company that I will support as long as they are making good boats. Ham
PLEASE post when you get the Coosa's available for rent. I really want to rent one for a full day demo. Gavin
You might want to wait on the Coosa.
Wayne SW/MO
I've had a Tarpon 12 for several years and it has done everything I've wanted it to. It tracks great, but as it goes there is some sacrifice in maneuverability, but I think the Tarpon has a good balance for our waters. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman. Trout Commander
Now that is a kayak I could be into. I have spent most of my money on fly fishing and beer. The rest I just wasted. Members Hef
If you live near Springfield Missouri, Dynamic Earth rents their Kayaks for $15.00 a day. That is where I was able to check out the Coosa.
