I was surfing through ebay, and found this set of bass fishing pros' trading cards currently on auction. I was wondering if anyone knew the chances that there might be a Paul Dallas card in this set? The set is unopened, and I don't want to contact the fellow who is selling these cards for fear of tipping him off of the extraordinary profit possibilities!

Thanks for any help or advice you can give me!

There's a good chance it could contain one of those cards, Forsythian. A 1984 Paul Dallas BLBTC (Big League Bass Trading Card) in mint condition sold for a record $1.38 on eBay last week. It was Paul dressed in a suit and tie holding a Shakespeare flippin stick and immediately behind him was a quintet of babes wearing bright red lipstick and impossibly short skits, their faces dolled up with their hair pulled back tight in a bun. His good friend, the rockstar - Robert Palmer stole the concept and even used the exact same hot girls in his famous MTV video, "Addicted To Love", bringing him nearly overnight fame and fortune and didn't even bother to tell Paul thank you.

Sadly, few cards remain, but you can still get an idea of the quality of babes that used to throw themselves at Paul, and still do to this day:

Paul, I'll pay upwards of a $1.39 per pic for the rights to the photo that's on your trading card.

I'm CEO of a toilet paper manufactuer that specializes in photos on each sheet.

Unfortunately, we only produce one-ply.

Unfortunately, the babes are not just the same quality...they are the same babes.

I actually came across one of those 1984 Dallas trading cards the other day. I used to buy them back in the late 70s because the bubble gum inside the package was of superior quality, but never thought they'd be worth anything. This one had somehow survived our many attempts to battle my cousin's hoarding addiction by setting his house trailer on fire. It was found inside one of the books in his extensive porn collection...apparently he'd used it as a bookmark...I'll take $1.25 for it.

Definetely not relevant....but I'm thinking that Travis the doomsday serial killer on the current run of Showtime's "Dexter" bears a striking resemblance to a young Paul Dallas......it is fiction...but the Dallas clan is prone to speaking in tongues, imbibing mass quantities of who knows what, dropping lit ciggy's in the tops of their Simms waders (Must be a down-low or grandfathered in pro staff deal to rate that disregard). Hardly worth prosecution....but it might be worthy of investigation. I'll give you $20 for the pack...iffen you toss in a big jug of Tito's vodka.

If I'd have known they would have some value someday, I wouldn't have torn them to shreds in the spokes of my far out Schwinn Orange Krate.

Is this the same Paul Dallas who now is repotadly working in a seedy night club outside of Reno as a drag queen also known as Rudy Vaselineo?.....

Thanks for the feedback... unfortunately, I was called to work out of town and was not able to baby-sit the auction. I see where the pack went for $3.19, so evidently some of the OzarkAnglers' contingent got into a fierce bidding war. That hefty price, along with the considerable shipping charges, tells me that the winner was motivated by sentiment rather than profit. For that I say "bully" and a hearty "hiho" to the lucky lad (or lass). My only hope is the card set is opened and enjoyed, rather than getting socked away.

Now, back to my search for a Winston 5wt or 6wt medium action under $250. I might as well be looking for sasquatch.
