fishinwrench Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 I'm thinking late May, early June ? Paper score= most inches/10 fish...or weigh them ? Talk to me
BackCastingGolfer Posted January 27, 2012 Author Posted January 27, 2012 I like the early June. I've never fished a tournament. what are the advantages to going length versus weight?
Outside Bend Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 I think inches would be better than weights- or at least easier. Will there be any catchy hats or shirts? <{{{><
eric1978 Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 The naked hippie will probably leave behind one of his cool tie-dyes.

fishinwrench Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 I like the early June. I've never fished a tournament. what are the advantages to going length versus weight? If we go length you can score your best 10 fish that are 12"+ (actually your partner scores them for you) If we weigh in then its the best 5 that are 15"+, and you have to babysit them all day and include dead fish penalties into the rules. My vote would be to keep it simple and easy on the fish...and us. but I do have access to a set of digital scales.
FishinCricket Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 Well heck, I'm sure it's laced with mojo. Uh, yeah.. "Mojo", that's the ticket... cricket.c21.com
Feathers and Fins Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 I’VE been following this topic and smiling a lot, just a bunch of guys wanting to have fun it appears. Allow me if you will to throw in an idea. Years back a guy put on a tournament in Cali I was involved in. The tournament idea was simple, Fly Fishing Only, Biggest fish Won, Tournament went all summer. The main rule was simple You had to take a picture of the Fish laying above that day’s News Paper with a yard stick under the fish. It was an honor system tournament. Entry fee was if I remember 20.00 winners per species entered in take all. He had a category for Trout, Bass, Bluegill, Crappie, Striper and Carp. Open to Boat, Float Tube and shore fishing. All areas waters open. Tourney went from the first day of summer to the last day of summer. Not sure if you guys would go for it but just got the feeling this sounds more like a bragging rights and fun tourney and I remember that one being a blast.. Lord I wish we had the net back then to tease each other. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
fishinwrench Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 We could do one of those anytime, could even do one every month. I'm in. I doubt that Phil would want it happening on here though.
