snagged in outlet 3 Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 I saw some flies that some guy tied and they looked like cracklbacks a bit. They were very long and skinny. I think I saw the pattern on here one time and it might have been called a Bennett Spring Special. Anybody know what's up? Laker? Pete
Gavin Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 The Russel Fly? Gold tinsel body, olive hackle on a wooly bugger hook.
snagged in outlet 3 Posted January 22, 2012 Author Posted January 22, 2012 That sounds like it G. Anybody got a pattern? SIO3
fishinwrench Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 That sounds like it G. Anybody got a pattern? SIO3 LMAO! Wake up, Pete! Somebody fell in the sauce last night, didn't they?
snagged in outlet 3 Posted January 25, 2012 Author Posted January 25, 2012 You lost me Wrench. I'm sure I'm missing something, so clue me in. Is it really just tinsel and hackle? Cut a ninja a break. Pete
Gavin Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 Yep...might add some lead under the tinsel but that's it...Scott Darrough put it in the Ozark Fly Fishers Newsletter a couple years ago and it used to be on the website...Couldnt find it on the new one though.
Idylwilde Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 Is this it? Take a Child Fishing they are the future of the sport.
stlfisher Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 Pretty sure it is what Gavin said. Different materials but the look of a larger version of a crackleback IMO. I believe they are tied on a size 8 or 10 hook.
