dennis boatman Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 I would think the percentage of fisherman coming to Missouri fishing, that have been in Didymo infested waters is minimal at best. If I fish Taney, then head to Crane Creek, I am not spreading Didymo. It's not there. If one fisherman fished Didymo water, then fished Taney, I guess in theory, he could ruin Taney forever, but I doubt it. There I said it...phew.... A strike indicator is just a bobber...
Justin Spencer Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 I think the majority of occurances probably happen between the White and then coming here to the NFOW in Missouri. You can be from here to Cotter in under an hour so this sometimes happens on the same day. Some guys also fish their way home and back so with Didymo lasting for days on some surfaces the potential is there for it to be tracked from the White to the rivers between St. Louis and KC. I know I do it and I have read plenty of reports of others doing the same.
ozark trout fisher Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 We could determine whether sockeye salmon would survive in the 11 Point by stocking thousands of them and seeing what happens. Sockeye salmon in the Eleven Point...Sounds good to me! Better bring a 7 weight and lots of egg patterns the next time I'm down there.
laker67 Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 In this month's Conservationist mag, new rules and regs plus an article on rock snot and the trout waters.
fishinwrench Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 That's no joke, Ron. I mean look at this list of specialized permits.... http://mdc.mo.gov/permits
Members dryfriomonroe Posted February 1, 2012 Members Posted February 1, 2012 I read that felt wading boots could be covered with 'rubber cement' or some other coating as a means to uphold the law without buying new boots....anybody tried that or seen it? I'm wondering whether it's worth a shot or if I will simply ruin a good pair of felt soles.
troutbum479 Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 I would think that covering felt with cement would cause them to be very slick. I guess if you added studs to the boots they would be better than just rubber cement. arkmoflyfishing.blogspot.com http://okietroutbum.blogspot.com/
