That's cheating if you delete posts, wish I knew how to do that!

Trust me, if I delete some of my posts it isn't cheating...It's just a service to mankind:)

I just got out and went fishing these evening (did I ever need it), so my crappy attitude is gone for now. If I don't fish, people on this forum pay I guess...

It's really a little curious that cougars almost never become hunters of humans, while leopards, which are pretty comparable in size, have produced some notorious man eaters. In India, while tigers always got a lot of press for eating humans, if I remember correctly the record for number of human kills by a single individual is held by a leopard. I'll see if I can look it up. Jaguars have been known to become maneaters as well.

Just checked...the leopard of Rudraprayag, killed by Jim Corbett int he 1920s, was reputed to have killed over 125 people before Corbett finally hunted it down. And leopards are still killing people in India these days.

There is only one know instance of a jaguar killing a man in Belize and it was a captive animal that escaped during a hurricane and killed a neighbor of the owner.

People are certainly afraid of jaguars, but it's all just grossly overblown.

Interesting. I did not know that.

I saw the River Hills Traveler article on the cougar capture last night at the Sports show. The cat weighed 122 lbs and some reports say 145 lbs. Either way a cat that big would be able to kill a full grown man quickly. I talked with a guy who went to those big cat sanctuarys in the past and he noticed the cats would react differently to a small child in the crowd. I think an opportunistic cat would definately kill a small child/toddler if they though it was easy prey, heck I bet even a coyote would do that, just ask Lindy Chamberlain in Austrailia what a wild dog can do.
