Members MikeH Posted March 5, 2012 Members Posted March 5, 2012 That brown's built like a tank. Great color on the rainbow too. I was heading to the Piney tomorrow but after those pics I think I might end up at the Current instead. -Mike
Nortrad Posted March 5, 2012 Author Posted March 5, 2012 It felt great, the fight, the tension before landing...you know. First time out this year, hope I didn't jinx myself!
Greasy B Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 Great fish. I took some big flies to Current a couple of weeks ago. I couldn't hardly find room to make a cast till I got down toward Cedar Grove by the time we got that far down the river the fish shut down. We did get some nice fish drifting elk hair caddis in seams and foam lines on the upper river. His father touches the Claw in spite of Kevin's warnings and breaks two legs just as a thunderstorm tears the house apart. Kevin runs away with the Claw. He becomes captain of the Greasy Bastard, a small ship carrying rubber goods between England and Burma. Michael Palin, Terry Jones, 1974
stlfisher Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 Fished the area on Saturday as well. My buddy caught a solid brown in 3 lb range and we spooked a couple more, but no other hooks ups on browns. Caught some decent rainbows, but saw very fish...actually did not see any below Baptist on Saturday afternoon. MIght have been the day (post cold front is never good), but It was slower than I usual my last few trips down.
BruteFish83 Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 It doesn't get much better than that. Nice slab! http://www.youtube.com/user/BruteFish83/videos

Good that you got some action.

Cold front was it IMO, need some warmer weather, rain, some insect activity.
