Stump bumper Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 According to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette Crowder did not have a vaild fishing license at the time of the catch and while validating the catch it was noticed that the date on the fishing license was the same day of the catch Feb 28 at 6:02pm. Mr Crowder also told told the AGFC he was using a Mann's Jelly worm and Trilene line then later told the paper he was using a Culprit paddle tail worm and Sufix line. I guess we will never know for sure what happened that day.
Members tunchi Posted March 10, 2012 Members Posted March 10, 2012 What an idiot! I wander how many years he has been fishing with out a license. He also got fined forfishing without a license. Serves him right to not get the record! Becky B
riverfish Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 its a shame about the lack of a license and the fines but i dont really care what he caught it on or what line was used its still the catch of a lifetime as long as it "actually was" caught on a hook line and pole i could only imagine catching a fish that size. makes a person think about spending a thousand dollars every spring to go to texas amd catch the fish of a lifetime when it could be in your own back yard huh?
Jason Essary Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Making up the lies about the license, lures, and baits just makes you wonder if he really caught it or just found it. Any which way, he should have know better. Essary Construction - Honest work for honest price Custom Construction and Remodeling Call for free quotes (417)338-6418 http://essarycustomhomes.com/
fishinwrench Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 What an idiot! I wander how many years he has been fishing with out a license. He also got fined forfishing without a license. Serves him right to not get the record! Only since April according to the article. The lack of a fishing license doesn't make a guy the scourge of society, gimme a break.
Members Spring River Trout Shop Posted March 11, 2012 Members Posted March 11, 2012 He hasn't had a license since April of last year so I figure he has been fishing and would have kept fishing with out it for almost a year now. That is not just a mistake. Spring River Trout Shop http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Spring-River-Trout-Shop/133527623400321
Feathers and Fins Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 My guess as to why he said trilene is the high dollar pay out for a record fish on it. Alot of fishyness in this story and this guy. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
fishinwrench Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 Yeah well, it was a victimless infraction. I'm sure he's paid his dues in other areas of life. I'd still buy him a beer and shake his hand.

ness Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 You know, I hate a poacher as much or more than the next guy. But I'm not gonna go off on this feller without knowing all the facts. I know this will be difficult for some to understand -- because it's so popular to convict with the first 1% of the information -- but this guy prolly just goofed up or didn't have the dough to buy a licence this year. Dude was fishing in a no-name spot, caught a biggun mid-day, mid-week, and tried to cover his tracks by buying a fishing license a few hours later. He wasn't a lifelong poacher, apparently, since he bought a license last year. I see nothing that makes me think he's not a regular guy that just farked it up, so I'm inclined to give him a pass. He's got the AR record bass, a bunch of photos and press to back it up, and great stories to tell the rest of his life. He oughta admit he screwed up, laugh it off and start shopping for endorsement deals. John
