Here's a quote from this week's MDC internet fishing report for Pomme:

white bass good on Twister Tails farther up river

Looking at the map, the only place I see what I'd call river access from the lake would be south of Bolivar, am I right?

Week-after-next I'll be there for a week with my wife. If we could get into some action on white bass, regardless of size, it would help make it a much happier trip.

Thanks,

I think you are right.Yesterday I was thinking I should have went to Lindley Creek.

Not unless you have a canoe.

Look at a map. You can take D hwy out of Bolivar and near Huron take Hwy PP. When you cross over the river at McCracken Bridge there is access for small boats there.

Access for larger boats is at the Bolivar landing.

You can run up the Pomme river, put in at Bolivar Landing and make it to McCracken bride in a bass boat (with the high water probably much farther. You can put in at Pittsburg Landing and go way up the Lindley. Good lucki!

Thanks that helps. We're stayng at Nemo Bridge so the Lindley Creek side would be a much shorter boat ride so we'll try that first. Hoping to avoid what looks like a 10 mile + boat ride past the Bolivar area, at least in the early AM, could be a little brisk!

go south on 64 through Pittsburg, take state highway Ra to the end, Pittsburg public access, up the river lots of flats and humps when you get out ot the channel.

If you don't have a good map be very careful if you go above Pittsburg landing.

I thought there was a huge white bass die off a few years back and there were few left. Anyone catch a white lately?

There was a big die off but some have been reported up the Pom in the McCracken Bridge area. I haven't heard of any in the Lindley but there must be some.

I'm not gonna say you won't catch any White Bass on Pomme right now, but the population is very low. Talked with the MDC guys last week and during their regular shocking trip up the Pomme river they shocked a total of ZERO white bass. Timing with the warmer than normal water probably had something to do with it though. You might get lucky and catch a Walleye, terrible thing to have to take one home for supper! :have-a-nice-day:
