Gone Fishing Posted April 14, 2012 Posted April 14, 2012 Just wondering if anyone knows how they did today in the CPA?
Bill Babler Posted April 14, 2012 Posted April 14, 2012 My good buddy Scott Pauley had 21 pounds with one well over 8 pounds to claim the prize. I believe second was pretty distant. Not for sure and can be corrected but I believe 16 something. Beck said it was brutal. Lots of spawned out LM. K's were not to be found and lots of Buck jaws getting ready to do the deal. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com

Gone Fishing Posted April 15, 2012 Author Posted April 15, 2012 Just looked at the results and 26 of the 30 pro's had limits. It seems the keeper fish are not hard to find but the quality we had a few weeks ago is getting harder to come by.
Members Fat Boy Posted April 15, 2012 Members Posted April 15, 2012 2nd was 20 plus and then 18lbs, scott had a great bag, keepers are not hard to come by just can't find any size. Last sat. had about 17 to 18lbs all the fish were spawned out, fri pre fishing all the fish were spawned out, sat in tourney all my keeps were not spawned I had one little male that was beat to death, all my other fish looked fresh. Maybe just me but I feel a new bunch came up more and more fry in the bushes, I seen no beds but was not looking for them.
Alex Heitman Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 Stacey King and his partner won today with 22 and something lbs is all I know.
Champ188 Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 Numbers are awful. Got to the point Donna and I couldn't afford to fish. Costs us at least $1,200 for a Thurs-Sun trip counting entry fee, truck gas, boat gas and oil, eats (no peanut gallery comments) and a decent place to stay, plus tackle and other incidentals. No more boats than they are drawing these days, we'd have to win to break even. That's not a good gamble in anyone's book.
Jerry Rapp Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 lots of good information and reality in your post Champ 188. Even with 100 boats you would probably have to be in the top 5 to break even. I did it for many years, won two boats along the way. I was doing as a business write off with a website and magazine and we kept track of every dime. Never came close to breaking even fishing tournaments.
