Members brianetz1 Posted April 25, 2012 Members Posted April 25, 2012 I know a week can make a difference, but i am heading down for a few days next week and i am looking for anyones report in the camdenton area.....staying at Kontiki resort if that gives you any idea. we will be fishing for bass mostly and i was wondering if the spawn is over, water clarity and if the topwater bite is still kicking. thanks in advance for any help you can give me.
Members brianetz1 Posted April 30, 2012 Author Members Posted April 30, 2012 if anyone can shoot me a report in the next couple of days i would greatly appreciate it. thanks!
fishinwrench Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 The spawn is not over. Water color is variable depending on what cove ir creek arm you're in. Topwater bite is a day to day crapshoot, but it doesn't hurt to always have a rod rigged for it. Pitching lizards (and stuff) around shallow docks and wood cover is among the best ways to stick a pig right now. Hope you have a good trip!
Members brianetz1 Posted May 1, 2012 Author Members Posted May 1, 2012 Thanks for the reply, I really appreciate it.....if you have any other poimters for a once a year bass fishermen at LOTO it would be greatly appreciated.
Members Kccoffey Posted May 2, 2012 Members Posted May 2, 2012 I had pretty good luck on the Rat L Trap in 2-4 feet of water at Linn Creek. Carolina Rig lizard worked pretty well too. Caught a 6 pounder just off the corner of a dock in 2 feet of water with the Rat L Trap. Had no luck on either of the Niangua arms.
Members brianetz1 Posted May 2, 2012 Author Members Posted May 2, 2012 Thanks again......what is considered the linn creek area? Not too familiar with different areas of the lake
Jbrant Posted May 4, 2012 Posted May 4, 2012 I'm headed down tomorrow afternoon - gonna stay around Linn Creek too. What's the water color in that area? I've never fished much in the upper 20MM's - may try some of that area this weekend.
grizwilson Posted May 4, 2012 Posted May 4, 2012 Water is brown but clearing in the Nianguas some what clearer in the Osage, Linn Creek is brown also, but starting to clear. Water temp about 71. Early with the cloud cover a buzz bait in the backs of pockets working well, in the Hurricane Deck bridge area. As clears out, jigs, brushhogs, near the backs of pockets usually off of laydowns or other type of cover. Some fish have spawned, some have not. Some guys catching off secondary points, no luck on that for me. Good fishing. Linn Creek is on the east side just below the mouth of the Niangua, fished it a few hours this week, several bites no Keeps. g “If a cluttered desk is a sign, of a cluttered mind, of what then, is an empty desk a sign?”- Albert Einstein
