Stoneroller Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 I was savagely and viciously attacked at bass pro shops while minding my own business in an area I though was safe! I was looking for some topwater lures so decided to go by bps the other day here in 'the lou' (even though it's really in st charles) So I go inside, walk past the useless bag of skin standing at the turnstyle... I think they call them 'greeters' I rarely see them doing anything but chatting it up with other employees. BPS could probably lower prices if they weren't wasting $ on someone to stand at the front turnstyle and do nothing, but I digress... (cabela's usually has 4 or more idiots at the front, doing nothing) I take my normal path back towards the fishing section, purposefully going through the boating section, past the electronics and back to the back wall, then along the back wall to the aisle I want. I stroll down the rapala aisle checking out a few things, feeling quite safe and sound and that's when it happened.... out of nowhere, lurking around the corner, I was pounced on by one of the most persistent and deadly predators known to mankind. It pounces on me and goes straight for the throat! no emotion in it's eyes, no feeling in it's heart, it knows only one thing, get the sale!!! Enter the 'vacation sales associate!!!' she starts off with the annoying awkward battery of pointless questions geared to make you feel like you and her are best friends, not. Then she quickly rolls into her sales pitch. Which is exactly where I cut her off. I didn't come here to buy a frigging bs vacation to where? branson? are you frigging kidding me? why would I need an itenerary to play putt putt golf, ride go carts and see some washed up has been country singers!!!!!??? PLUS!!!!! i'm waaaaayyyy back in the fishing section, get back over in your vacation sales troll hut by the fish tank and leave me alone! I was finally able to fend her off with a combination of abrasive attitude and snide remarks. "No I didn't ask you to dance... I said you look fat in those pants." My question to those of you in the Branson/Springfield area... Do the BPS vacation sales trolls try to sell you vacations to St Louis???!!!! Fish On Kayak Adventures, LLC. Wayne SW/MO Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 No, they try to sell us one to Branson. Occasionaly you will even find one who believes you when you say you live close by, but not often. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Feathers and Fins Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 LMAO. Yup Branson. I have a deadly weapojn against them. It is called the Father-in-law! My wife informed me that if I mention to him that they could also help sell him a boat or gun he can tie them up for hours (its true) my father-in-law is the most curious man on earth and once you set him on something he doesnt give up. By the time I was ready to leave BPS Branson he had three of them tied up at the Boat section and they looked like they were in great fear for their lives. Apparently It made an impression because now when I go in their they scatter to the four winds not to be seen... https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Mitch f Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 Usually they only hang around within 5-10 yards of the aquarium. "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
moguy1973 Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 He ones at the St Chuck BPS are the worst too. Very persistent and annoying. Wonder how many suckers they actually get to buy those 'vacations' to Branson. -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
jdmidwest Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 What kind of a trip do they try to sell at Cabela's?? I prefer that shop to BPS. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
dtrs5kprs Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 What kind of a trip do they try to sell at Cabela's?? I prefer that shop to BPS. They just pounce on you with credit card offers and tourist lures with lots of extra spinners and 3D eyes.
Stoneroller Posted May 30, 2012 Author Posted May 30, 2012 Usually they only hang around within 5-10 yards of the aquarium. this one had wandered far from it's native range. One of the reasons I was so suprised when she cornered me. I might add, they'd sell more vacations if they had young, hot girls in bikinis as sales people. Fish On Kayak Adventures, LLC. gramps50 Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 Ask them if they take Food Stamps, that will normally get rid of them.
Jack Jones Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 Stone, if you see ANY hot young girls at BPS, be grateful. Most of those I see working are decidedly NOT! Besides, I'm usually in there for fishing stuff anyway at the SPFD store. I take an immediate right turn and avoid them. If I have to cross over, I stay far to the left, out of earshot!
