Smalliebigs Posted June 5, 2012 Author Posted June 5, 2012 Yikes. Think we paddled through that chute yesterday... We didnt see a jet until we got a couple miles below there. Fish were biting in the AM, and it improved in the afternoon. All were smaller than 13". On the plus side...It was a nice day on the water, scenery was better than expected (till the end of the float), caught some on the fly rod, and some spotted bass died. Figure the better fish must have gorged at night under the full moon. Lots of 2-3' long carp shallow in the riffle heads...Tried for em with some flashy smallmouth patterns but they wouldnt go for it. Shoulda brought my nymph & leach box. cool you guys caught some smallie on a fly????? any carp???

Smalliebigs Posted June 6, 2012 Author Posted June 6, 2012 how do you make that seat dance around in your vid? you know what i was wondering that myself....I used youtubes editing software. I think I'm going to edit it back to how it was a nd see if that doesn't fix it.
Blazerman Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 Gavin, I think you floating by us. My son and I put the Blazer in about 2:00. Put in at Redhorse and went about 5 miles upstream. River is as low as I have ever seen it for early June. It is scary to think what July and August will be like. My guess is you won’t see many motorized boats of any kind. Plan on doing a lot of dragging even in canoes and kayaks. (For the record I still have one nice flat back Grumman canoe and now own two kayaks). We caught some decent fish. Mine came on jig and trailer. He was using live crawdads. He had a blast catching some of the big drum that are swimming all over the shallows.
Gavin Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 I might have been us Blazer. We took out at Redhorse around 5:30pm. Were you the fellow that suggested I go right at the top of the island?
Wayne SW/MO Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 Not to be overly critical, but that LP bottle in the basement would make me nervous. Nice report though. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

Yeah I know Wayne.....It's empty but, I shouldn't keep it in there....I was just lazy.We bought a new grill that holds two tanks and I cycle three. That is an empty I was to lazy to go get refilled.
