you can't exercise freedom anywhere now. wish they'd concentrate on taking down child molesters and sex offenders as much as they did people enjoying themselves on the river.

The thing is; the saturation attempts are about building revenue, .08 is not dangerously hammered, it is mildly buzzed. In my insignificant opinion if you have to make someone blow into a machine to tell if their "overly intoxicated".....then you should prolly just leave them alone and allow them to enjoy themselves.

You both are so clueless it is scary you are still wasting our air...

But is this the behavior we want the Scouts to learn and think is ok?

Is this the behavior we want the Church groups to think is ok? and they do have a powerful voice in the community one I have seen strong enough to cause laws to be enacted.

I think it is more important for them, myself and others NOT to have to see and deal with it. If I saw this behavior at a park or anyplace else I would call the police and you can bet arrest would be made for D&D. So why is it acceptable for our lakes and rivers?

Now this one I cant pass up and its a shot right at you Justin ( ATARI ) Dam son your showing your age! Even I know its X-box or Playstation 3 lol ( but i know what pong is and played it)

Thought you might like that Atari reference! I am raising a 6 year old and an 8 year old in this environment and you can try and shelter kids all you want from what people do, but I would rather be along side them when they see it and use it to teach them what not to do, and show them why getting totally wasted is a bad thing. You can tell them all you want why getting FUBAR isn't cool, but when they see some chick puking, and people acting stupid it makes an impression, and I'm there to explain why these things are happening. You can be there when they see it for the first time, or they can be the ones doing it later in life because they don't know what to expect. Only time will tell if I'm right, but right now I know my kids don't think drunk people are cool.

We do call the police on occasion, as a matter of fact some "friends" in the same group get into it last night, we had a deputy down and since the guy was too drunk to drive anywhere, and we didn't want him here, we took him to a motel in Gainesville. I'm all for arrests being made for drunk and disorderly on the rivers because even most of the drunk floaters on our river don't want to be bothered by that kind of behavior I think the noise factor is what wouldn't go over well in parks or in town, even though it is annoying I think we still need a few places we can hoot and holler and not get in trouble for it.

Oh trust me Justin I use to Hoot and Holler with the best of them and still do. I just dont see a reason for the drugs ( and they are illegal ) and I dont need alchol for it. Drinking doesnt bother me heck I use to drink stuff that would make most people puke fast. But I learned drinking doesnt mean getting hammered! I see way to much hammered and power drinkers than those who actually drink a beer or two. That is where the problem is and those are the ones who need the silver charm braclets put on them.

And many of ya here have seen my antics on the rivers.

Miss my river brothers... but not all.

Seen a lot of face plants into the ground and even buildings on occasion.

Nope, don't miss them at all .

I guarantee you that if you go to the Huzzah, Courtois, Meramec between Maramec Spring and Meramec State Park, Niangua, Current, upper Black, that one stretch of the Big Piney, and the Spring River on a summer Saturday you'll have horror stories. LIke wishing you had a gun so you could discourage the two big drunken louts who came on to your 14 year old niece right in front of you, for instance, which was one of the worst things that happened in the very few times I've ventured onto one of these rivers on a weekend. But do a search for "partying--Spring River" or partying on any other of those rivers on Utube and you can see a bit of how bad it can be.

It seem like most the of the time we want more enforcement and then complain about it when it actually happens? I don't know doesn't make much sense to me. I am glad they are making an effort.

Smart Azz :have-a-nice-day: ......Al hit the nail on the head....head down to one of the local rivers on the weekend and see what its like. Drunken idiots fighting X3, drunken minors with their shorts off shaking their peckers at YOUNG girls who are with their families...Some goons hiking up the woods in front of me tossing two garbage bags full of cans into the woods thinking it was alright. This was exactly one hour in the Stanton area. I had 6 guys tied up on different incidents all of which occurred on the river in a 500 yard section. Think about how much goes unreported.

I am fine with going out and having a couple of cocktails on the river however, more than a few of these idiots cause major problems. And the .08 thing.....It all depends on your bodies ability to process the alcohol.

I have seen people who have been around .24 do well on SFST's. I have seen others around .08 that couldn't even stand. Tolerance is alot of it.

I am all for making arrests for DWI and BWI and even protective custodys. If someone is so drunk they are not able to make sound decisions and start fights and act foolish, 9 time out of 10 their friends do not want anything to do with them.

As far as BWI and DWI go, I rather see someone off of the river or road. I invite anyone who disagrees to ask any law enforcement personnel what it is like going to someone's house at 2 or 3 o'clock in the morning to do a death notification. It is the most aweful and humbling feeling there is. In a majority of these cases the person was killed in a MVA and alcohol was involved.

Take note: someone crosses the centerline and hits your family head on, in seconds your whole life is destroyed....Your kids and wife are laying in a body bag roadside. The guy driving is fine but he is only a .08........Is .08 still alright then or where does the limit need to be? Someone might say well thats different if they were involved in an accident. It really is not. A drunk driver is a time bomb on the roadway.

Don't recognize me as someone in uniform...Shouldn't even have brought it up a couple of posts ago. I'm not like that.
