ruthead Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Don't know I'd call it a gimmick...Pinkel 's had a pretty good run of it. Been a MU fan for 35 yrs and u prolly don't remember the Warren Powers days and other bad memories. Our offense can play with anyone as long as we have a healthy backfield to keep the defens honest. It's our defense I think may take a lil while to catch up. "Pretty soon we may not have any rights left because it might infringe on someone's rights"
KCRIVERRAT Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 I'm with ya brotha....and you're just talking about basketball recruits. The guys on here that think Missouri's offense is as fast as the SEC's defenses just have not seen many SEC games. It's time to seal the borders of Missouri of D-1 talent, I hope Missouri's entry to the SEC will help them do that, we will see. Um RIVERRAT, DGB was born in St.Louis in a project to looser parents and adopted by his football coach where he played....sounds goofy to me but whatever. I think thats considered a St.Louis recruit. Time will tell....but, Mizzou is not going to have a fun time on the gridiron for a few years until they get some real recruits in there.DGB is a good start but one receiver does not make a team on both sides of the ball. Missouri has never done well in St.Louis and Gary has basicly ignored it like an ignorant fool......things change though. I was a d-1 baseball recruit in 1988 and ened up going to Tulane, back then Missouri's baseball team was a club team with no affiliation to the NCAA.....now Missouri has a decent d-1 team.....so things change. RIVERRAT I am a big Mizzou fan but, I just think Gary Pinkle is a D-2 coach and his staff resembles that as well. With Missouri moving into a real confrence they should have considered making a splash with a legit coach as well.........sorry if that pisses you off but, Mizzou is a non pro offense that is nothing but a gimmick. Didn't mean to come off as P'd Off Bigs. I think I've seen ya wearing your Mizzou cap in some of your pics. I know you're a fan. This is just fun sports talk. I will admit to missing Christenson as our OC. Didn't realize that DGB was from ST. Louis. Sounds just like Maclin's situation. I do believe our skill guys have as much or more speed as anyone in the SEC. But yes, SEC defenses are faster than the Big XII's. Our defense I hope can step it up against the run oriented offenses. It's a whole new era beginning and I'm excited. HUMAN RELATIONS MANAGER @ OZARK FISHING EXPEDITIONS
Flysmallie Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Didn't realize that DGB was from ST. Louis. You easterners are really stretching for that one calling him a STL recruit. He set all of his records playing at Hillcrest in Springfield, that's where he's from. Â Â

stlfisher Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 He is from St. Louis, bounced around alot and was adopted by his high school coach and played ball in Springfield. I would say he is more Springfield than St. Louis, but it doesn't really matter to me...he is a stud.

Flysmallie Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 I was just giving you boys a hard time. He's from Missouri and that's all that matters now. I just hope his studliness continues. And I know a whole lot of area kids that will be happy to NOT see him lining up across the line from them on Friday nights this fall. Â Â
