Haris122 Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 The original owner probably left it at his place for a couple years, it started rusting, and the guy didn't trust it anymore. So, easiest way to get rid of it without getting in trouble = dump it or toss it in a lake. Don't have to risk pulling the pin, and no one will probably find it for a long time if ever. Good thing it didn't get snagged just right to somehow activate it once the guy starts fumbling with it to remove it from his line.
fishinwrench Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 Wonder what he caught it on, crankbait, jigging spoon ? What are the odds that he only disposed of One? Are they gonna examine the sock for DNA (doubt it was a new one) and scour the lake floor for more ?
RSBreth Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Probably an inert training grenade like the ones you can get at Surplus City for 20 bucks - but at least they didn't call the bomb squad for a t.v. like this - http://abclocal.go.com/ktrk/story?section=news/state&id=8804136
jdmidwest Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 I guess it is hard to find dynamite any more, grenades must be easy to come by now. Good fishing bait, just pull the pin and chuck them in. Don't even need a cigar to light the fuse. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
fishinwrench Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 To hell with the grenade, it's even harder to find those red striped socks. That was some quality s#!t wasn't it? That red dye hadn't faded one iota, and the elastic even still looked good.
