skeeter Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 Yikes ! Didn't realize it until looking at a map that Millwood and Hempstead County is North of Texarkana. That gator wasn't just surviving that far North, it was thriving ! Thanks for posting.

Looks more like a zoo gator than a wild gator. Someone or something has been feeding it exceptionally well.
exiledguide Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 Sometime in 2000 we had a tournament on Millwood nice fish were caught, great time on the water until returning and right at the dock I was greeted by one of these guys nowhere as big as this one, took my boat out of the water went home and never went back. I had been lipping my fish that day and kind of lost all interest in reaching into the water. Saying that, Millwood puys out some really quality fish but I don't believe there has ever been BASS or FLW tournament there.

Members rntmvp6 Posted September 23, 2012 Members Posted September 23, 2012 Lived on that Lake for 2 years and they do live down there. I have had 12 footers hit the sides of my boat in shallow water and even had one during teal season hit my boat and splashed his tail sideways completely drenching me from head to toe. Amazing how much power they have and how big they can really get in the wild.
