fishinwrench Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Just tell us who the enemy is, that's all we need to know
justin scobee Posted November 14, 2012 Author Posted November 14, 2012 Thats what I use to think as well. Till a few years back. But Its takes a whole lot more than that. Look at police shooting There will be 3 officers and they will dump one mag each and they will put maybe 3 rd all together and most of the time NONE in the bad guy. You will be very surprised what fear and stress can do to a guy. Most will freze up. Every thing is muscle memory and you have to pracitice it on a dayly deal. Try this and let us no how it goses and Be true about it. K Get a plan white paper and hang up. Now Get a marker and put a pee size dot in the center of it. Now most gun fights are 7 to 15 yards. start at 7 yards. Now have your fire arm holsters. Now your your task is to draw as fast as you can to a full draw and make 2 shots and see where you hit. But..... YOU CAN NOT USE YOUR SIGHTS!!!!!!!!!! U will NOT have time in a real gun battle to do so. Its life or death. Its your call. If u would like to make it alittle more real life run 40 yards and than do 20 push ups as fast as you can and than try. That will get you a little close to the feeling of a guy having a weapon in your face that make take your life or your love ones. Really try It and any one who dose let me know how you do. BUT be true as well. Thanks justin
fishinwrench Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 Sounds to me like you've psyched yourself into thinking that your inborn fight or flight instincts are gonna let you down when you need them most. Stop playing those pre-concieved dramatizations out in your head and relax. Training for the unexpected....Never understood that. Of all that stuff you listed so enthusiasticly you never listed "Safety". Who's gonna protect your loved ones from YOU? Sorry. Rambo types bring out the worst in me. I'm done.
Flysmallie Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 Carry a shotgun. Less problems with aiming. Â Â

Sounds like any mention of a firearm brings out the worst in you. If you don't understand, don't bother to pick on others. Beat them to death with a fishing rod when the thugs come calling to take your stuff. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
fishinwrench Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 When a gun is defined as "a weapon"....then yeah, you're right it does. Good idea though, I'll contact St.Croix and see if there's any interest in producing a "tactical" line of fly rods so I can keep the "Thugs" from stealing my non-tactical rods. You guys are a POW. What 'stuff' do you have that you're willing to kill to keep? Nevermind, don't even answer that.

For one It just aint about fire arms. First thing to help a guy is being aware and Not putting your self in a bad situation. Being aware and knowing what to look for will better you than a fire arm or hand to hand conbat will. I have no fear with MY inborn fight or flight instincts. I just would reather better my self for it. But ether way I will fight to the DEATH for my wife and my kids. Training for the unexpected Wow really so Why train a teacher to teach kids. , why do any Job training. hell why have on the job training. So do you think are military is wasting time training??????????? Hell Why dont we just throw them in them hell holes and say here ya goo. Good luck and gods speed. See ya on the other side boys. DO YOU think you could make a 1,000 plus yard shot with out training? Now ur some what ballsy for saying (Who's gonna protect your loved ones from YOU?) But I had to lmao on that bull. hell I have more fath in my 7 year old boy protecting his life then you trying to protect a squirrel Lol. now yea I did not list "Safety". For one YOU your self has to provide your own safety. Not ME. I will do that for my self. Now Im no Rambo types. But we my wife and my 3 kids and I have the training if we ever Need it.

Nevermind, don't even answer that. That a nother note. U need to define a weapon. just like a spoon or thooth brush, any thing can be used as a weapon. Thats why its called improvised weapon even that fly rod. Now for what do I have that Im willing to kill to keep. For ONE im not willing to Kill BUT to STOP the THREAT
Greasy B Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 Once while hanging on a street corner in north St Louis I thought I was being robbed at gun point. When the robber finally drew his weapon it turned out to be a bologna. Turns out the ole boy just wanted to trade his bologna for a beer. I gave him the beer and let him keep his balogna. His father touches the Claw in spite of Kevin's warnings and breaks two legs just as a thunderstorm tears the house apart. Kevin runs away with the Claw. He becomes captain of the Greasy Bastard, a small ship carrying rubber goods between England and Burma. Michael Palin, Terry Jones, 1974
