I know a woman who is a native of Thailand and lived there til she was about 20. She tells me, and I am afraid she's not yanking me around, that some type of large bug ( cockroaches or beetles of some type, I forget which) are so popular as food there that the big cities have sidewalk vendors cooked bugs. Says they are about the size of your little finger. Yum.
