dwiebenga Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 I have a reel that needs some repairs. I am having troubles with the breaking system. It is too fast on the cast, and I am getting a number of backlashes. I have tuned all my Citicas, and this is the only one I have problems with. Also, I have a broken peice on the "star drag" that needs to be replaced. Is it best to send to Shimano, or is there an alternative you would recommend. Thanks in advance. Dave
tjulianc Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 I've used this service with very good results for an older Curado. I wouldn't hesitate to use again. He gets busy in the early spring, so quicker you can get him the reel the better. http://www.proreelservice.com/Contact.html
abkeenan Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 I belong to Bass Boat Central's website and http://www.reel-ex.com/ always seems to get rave reviews on service. They are in California though. There is also another member there on BBC from St. Charles MO ( http://threeltuningandcleaning.com/reel_cleaning/Reel_Service.html ) that I know does work on servicing reels which I have also heard does good work. Might shoot them an email or contact them.

Jerry Rapp Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 highly recommended. Tony is a Shimano guru. http://www.coasttackleservice.com/
Dutch Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 I use the Reel Mechanic in KS. He is very reasonable and Shimano factory trained.
