Quillback Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 But they're a year too late, they need to get a QB, I can't see them going the Brady Quinn route next year. I was looking at a mock draft which had them taking the WV QB, Geno Smith.
Wayne SW/MO Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 It's hard to tell what they'll do. I don't see Smith as a franchise QB. He has great stats against weaker defensive lines, but he falls off against better ones and they are all good ones in the pros. I like Landry. He has outstanding accuracy and I think his faults can be cured. There's no doubt he can panic, but he tends to do that early in the season and that to me is a sign that he can get rid of that tendency. I do agree it's a year late, but unfortunately they've needed a QB for years and it's hard to tell what Pioli will do. He is the guy that brought in a college back up QB and payed him as if he had won the Heisman. I thought Pioli should go for that very reason. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
ness Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 Clark needs to spend a little of daddy's money and get a proven QB and head coach. We're too far in the hole to take a chance on a rookie QB and/or a no-name assistant. They also need to get a decent replacement for Tony DiPardo. And, the chick riding Warpaint is way overdressed -- just look at all the empty seats! John
Dutch Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 Don't expect too much. I haven't seen the Hunts spending enough money to build a good team and I'd be very surprised if things change very much.
Jerry Rapp Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 I don't follow the Griefs much since I am on the eastern side of the state, but I remember back in day(1960s) watching Oakland and KC on the tube. Len Dawson and LaMonica. They always seemed to be at each others throats and the game always meant who would win the league.

They have to get a good QB, NFL has become such a QB league, you can't win without a good one.

Wayne SW/MO Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 Yea Montana was a good one, but not the franchise QB to really build on. Dawson came with them from Dallas. The only OB they ever drafted that had great credentials was Blackledge, who had better stats then Marino from the same class. Levy just wouldn't take the time to let him develop and kept the offense on a run run schedule. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Chief Grey Bear Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 Montana was a good QB before KC. He just couldn't get it done anymore and that is why KC got him. Marty Schottenheimer should have never been fired. That was the begining of KC's down fall. And it looks as if they are at rock bottom now. But there is still hope. http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/2012/11/10/marty-schottenheimer-no-desire-to-coach-wasnt-in-kansas-city/1696675/ Chief Grey Bear Living is dangerous to your health Owner Ozark Fishing Expeditions Co-Owner, Chief Executive Product Development Team Jerm Werm Executive Pro Staff Team Agnew Executive Pro Staff Paul Dallas Productions Executive Pro Staff Team Heddon, River Division Chief Primary Consultant Missouri Smallmouth Alliance Executive Vice President Ronnie Moore Outdoors

SF had Young coming up. Draft picks are always risky. I don't see a QB we can snag with our pick that's real exciting. And the chances of a rookie starter are miniscule. I'd like to spend the pick on a proven John
