Troutnut69 Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 Got out last week (before the weather got real nice!) for a day float with a new fishing buddy. It was his first time on the river and he was impressed with the water itself and the fishing I think. I did tell him to never visit the same body of water between memorial Day and Labor Day or it would totally change all of his opinions about the place! We caught good numbers of "Truckers" as usual , with a few browns and a holdover bow or two thrown in. It was a beautiful winter day and to top it off we never saw another person on the river all day long. Full TR on the Blog....Jeff http://highplainsflyfisher.blogspot.com/
Wayne SW/MO Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 It's a great off season river. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Greasy B Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 The hold over Bow looks beautiful. I enjoyed you blog, thanks. His father touches the Claw in spite of Kevin's warnings and breaks two legs just as a thunderstorm tears the house apart. Kevin runs away with the Claw. He becomes captain of the Greasy Bastard, a small ship carrying rubber goods between England and Burma. Michael Palin, Terry Jones, 1974
Gavin Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Looks like you had a great time. Enjoyed your photo's!
fishinwrench Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Another trip sans pup. How do you even sleep at night?
Troutnut69 Posted January 22, 2013 Author Posted January 22, 2013 Thanks for the comments guys. Wrench - you can't even imagine the sad eyes I get when he sees me loading up the truck and not taking him. We're due for a trip though , even if it's just a short one to a local lake.
dennis boatman Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 ...wonder if my cat would like to go fishing...? A strike indicator is just a bobber...
