Members Creede Posted February 4, 2013 Members Posted February 4, 2013 I use p-line on all my spinning reels. As far as tangles and twists go, occasionally troll your line with nothing tied on behind the boat for a short distance. You will be amazed how much longer you can run the the same line.
dtrs5kprs Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Seaguar invizx Yes. Nothing like it. Watch Tackle Warehouse and buy it on sale, worth every penny. A larger than medium reel (like a 3000 vs. a 2500) will eliminate a ton of twist and memory. Just run a lot of backing and 100yds or so of the good stuff. Have broken too many braid to leader knots in the last two years to trust them any longer. Uni to Uni, Seaguar Knot, you choose. Have popped them all.
Quillback Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 I like that Invisx myself for the drop shot and shakey head stuff. I use Trilene XL for small cranks and small topwaters that I throw on spinning gear. I get the Trilene in low viz green, so that I know what reels have mono on them.
Ham Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 I was using uni to uni for my braid to leader knot, but CajunAngler showed me the Alberto knot and that's what I use now. PIA to tie, but zero failures so far. I didn't have failures with the uni to uni either, but it was a bigger knot that bumped down through the guides a little harder. cullinby9 Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 I use yellow powerpro braid with an eight foot leader of flouro 8-12#

I go nine turns on the braid and six on the flouro I've not had any issues since i made that adjustment it was a tip I saw from Edwin Evers.
Ham Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 What is p-line? P Line is the brand name. The family that owns the company last name begins with P. I use the CX Premium which is a fluro coated co-poly as opposed to a monofilament. It is thin compared to other lines of the same pound test and it's very supple. IT DOES SUFFER FROM HEAT DAMAGE like a full fluro would. Wet knots fully before slowly drawing them down. IF you get a line tangle on the rod tip, don't force it. Gently untangle. I re-tie if the line distorts after a tangle on knot tie. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Members tbooks Posted February 4, 2013 Members Posted February 4, 2013 Started using Nano fil with floro leader last year. Best I have found so far.
abkeenan Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Surprised I haven't heard any mention of Yo-Zuri Hybrid. Best of both worlds with mono/fluoro, yet it is soft and supple with low memory and stuff is STRONG. Gets my vote.
