Jerry Rapp Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 wierd day. The lake is 1 foot over summer pool, and falling pretty fast. Dingy. We caught 5. But, 2 were 4+ and a 3lb smallie. On three different baits. Two other just keepers. Thought it would get better as the day warmed, but it didn't today. Water was 42 degrees at start, and then 46-47 at the end of the day.
cwc87 Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Are they biting the wart yet? How is fishing below the dam now?
mic Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Is Clearwater the lake on the Black downstream of the shut-ins?
Jerry Rapp Posted February 7, 2013 Author Posted February 7, 2013 Clearwater is on the Black, but about 50 miles below the shut ins. Taum Sauk lake is just below the shut ins and took the brunt of the flood when the upper Taum Sauk reservoir failed. Cory, caught one of the largemouths on a wart, but that was the only fish we caught on it. A RC jerk, and shakey head caught the others. Don't know about below the dam, but I suspect it would be good since they are dumping a lot of water.
cwc87 Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Ten four Jerry. Thanks for the reply. Only fished Clearwater twice both derbys. First time I had a personal best 24 lbs. all on a pointer 78 jerkbait. That bag had twin 7lbers. I haven't fished it in five years. O'well great memory!
Haris122 Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 Jerry have you ever fished Lower Taum Sauk Reservoir? And if so, how have you done and what kind of fish can you hook into there?
