Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted February 8, 2013 Root Admin Posted February 8, 2013 At the ramp. Talked to agent who's checked a dz bts. 1 bt had 2 limits. Couple others had a few and most didn't have any. Water temp dropped from 48 to 45. Am putting in now. Fish till dark.
Dutch Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 UH what species Phill? I thought about it today but didn't make it. What is the water color down there now?
aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Water is pretty Dingy color. I just took out everyone down there is chasing crappie, we only caught 1 didn't see a whole lot of action in other boats either. Highest water temp I saw was 48.8
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted February 8, 2013 Author Root Admin Posted February 8, 2013 Taking out now. Six keepers Crappie and about four shorts. Several real small Bass. Caught them in 20 foot of water just up river from the mouth of flat Creek on the Bluffside. Caught them on a one 16th oz Leadhead with purple swimming minnow. Water temp 49 late afternoon. Good color. Dictation courtesy of Siri
Josh Holt Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 I didn't go today but my buddy did they caught their limits of crappie in an hour and a half 8 to 10 feet of water if your fishing deep your messing up the crappie are shallow I have been catching them in 8 to 10 ft of water since january and i haven't came home with out a limit but one or two times and i wasn't far from a limit either time
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted February 9, 2013 Author Root Admin Posted February 9, 2013 On the flats? We almost got to 10 feet of water on that flat but EVERYONE was out deep so we didn't go on in.
Jacob W Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 Has this crappie pattern been duplicated on different areas of the lake, or just mainly in one or two river or creek arms? Thanks for all the advice.
Tightline Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 That rain water has warmed it up,I can't believe we aren't hearing any reports out of Long or Cricket they are there but the water is clearer and cooler and the bite is always a week or 2 behind the James.Or maybe they are just being quiet. I am also surprised that the whites aren't being caught right now, espeially in the Capefair area, we usually are killing them there. Good report.
Bill Babler Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 We are going to see about the Whites. The water level was perfect for deep fishing white bass this year and me and all of my deep fishing buddies, caugtht a big ZERO. I have never in the last 30 yrs. on Table Rock had a worse deep fishing winter for white bass. They just should have been all over that deep stuff with the K's and the millions of shad. I'm really puzzled by this. It will be interesting how the run is this year, with them completely vanishing off the map for the Winter. They are usually just stacked in the Big Indian at Baxter, at the flats at Campbell Pt. at the mouth of the White River and on the multiple flats and channel swings up the James. Nada. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Dutch Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Maybe it is Table Rock's time like 2003 was for Bull. They died by the millions.
