I've been tying some of these buck tail jigs. I'm really starting to gain confidence in them as I keep catching fish in this cold weather. Today I was only out for 40 minutes in a cold east wind, but caught a hybrid, adding a new species to list. I can't wait for the weather to get warm to see if I'm lucky or finding a new favorite. Come on spring.

That's not far from a Clouser, the deadly fly.

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

Bucktail jigs Uncle Josh pork Rind Eel ,Virgil Ward's Tarantula rubber leged spinner bait, and a brown wood Bomber used to catch largemoth all winter 40 years ago. Good to see fish still bite on bucktails......Did you make that jig mic?

You better get ready for storing the extras. I started out making one color of one size of bucktails. Now I have 5 or 6 sizes in about 20 color combinations with over 500 of them tied up.

Yes, that is what is making so enjoyable this year. I picked up a bunch of buck tail from the forum a few weeks ago so more to come.

How do you fish them? I've been fishing my under a bobber just above the weeds on the local pond.
