Smalliebigs Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 OTF, I love Mizzou but, I call them like I see them.....and Mizzou beat VCU and Illinois, thats it.....they haven't won a legit game on the road in their own confrence.....that sucks and they are huge under achievers....to me that is garbage. If SLU beats VCU tonight when VCU is playing good as opposed to Mizzou beating them early when nobody is playing good and SLU beat Butler and Texas A&M who beat the lowly tigers....well to me that says SLU is better coached and a better TEAM.SLU's losses to Rhode Island and Washington are bad but, SLU actually has a point gaurd who knows his role and isn't a stupid clown who can't recognize to protect the ball at the end of the game when you are trying to score to win the game. If Missouri gets in, it will like most of their apperances one and done.....there are a ton of teams in the top 40 who have way more heart than Mizzou and it will show if they make to the dance at all. http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/team/_/id/142/missouri-tigers with the talent Missouri has they are simply under achieving but, it pays to be in a big conference even if it sucks in Basketball
OzarksRiverman Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 SLU? Isn't that the high school that Hogs running back Ronnie Wingo Jr. came from? I didn't know they played college basketball
ozark trout fisher Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 SLU? Isn't that the high school that Hogs running back Ronnie Wingo Jr. came from? I didn't know they played college basketball St. Louis University. They are one of the better programs in the Atlantic 10. Mizzou has been playing very well over the past three games. They blew out a very good Ole Miss team, crushed (an admittedly struggling) Mississippi State team on the road, and fell by two points on the road to a good Arkansas team. I've actually been impressed with the level of play. If Mizzou is a garbage team, then we are watching different games. If our point guard is a "stupid clown" then once again, we are looking at a different player. Because I see the SEC's leader in assists and one of the top 5 in the nation in that category as well. Pressey shoots too much but he is still very much an elite level point guard. He wouldn't be a first round NBA draft prospect otherwise. We are very lucky to have him on our team. And with that, I'm done. I'm looking forward to watching Mizzou take on Florida. Hopefully SLU can win and we can all be happy.
OzarksRiverman Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Ah, yes. Spoonhour's and Rick Majerus' (RIP) former teams. The Billikens and fell by two points on the road to a good Arkansas team. ...and thank you.
Smalliebigs Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Well OTF olde Mizzou couldn't even keep it close on their own court in the first half....very weak. I don't care who you think you are if you think you are a tourney team then you should be able to keep it close with any team on your home court.............I hope they prove me wrong in the second half, I really do. if Phil Pressey is a NBA first rounder then that should tell you how far the NBA skill level has dropped for pure basketball skills. come on Mizzou show us something in the second half...........it's your home court...........no more excuses oh, and SLU on there home court is just destroying VCU
moguy1973 Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Mizzou making things really interesting down the stretch. And yeah. SLU will be ranked next time the rankings come out. -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
cnr Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Yep. SLU looks great and the Mizzou game had a fantastic ending
Smalliebigs Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Hey OTF, I have to give Mizzou credit they showed some balls coming back from 2 double digit deficits in the second half......great job Mizzou and SLU's gaurds are very good....they killed VCU
moguy1973 Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 It was Mizzou vs Florida not Pressey vs Florida and it showed. Bowers was actually on his game tonight for once. -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
ozark trout fisher Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Both teams played very well today. I didn't see the SLU game but not even Duke could beat VCU by double digits-so it must have been impressive. At the end of the day any debate about who is better between the two teams is just silly. Both are good teams with chances to do big things in March. And both just may have punched their ticket to the tournament today, barring a pretty serious late season collapse. A good day, I would have to say.
