snap Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 agree quilll, that and the rims look different on the road for some reason!!! .....on another note, turned on the ark-georgia game last nite and the FIRST thing I see is a georgia player get a rebound, raped by 2 ark players, then a flagrant foul on the georgia player.....georgia loses the ball, ark gets 2 shots and the ball.......it was criminal!!!!....again!!!!!....so georgia loses at ark 62-60!!!
moguy1973 Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 SLU getting some bad reffing tonight at Butler. They won although it was closer than it should have been. Good game by SLU. Thems some tough kids! -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
stlfisher Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 it is nice to watch a team play solid team defense. Great win for the billikens.
Smalliebigs Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 It's official SLU is no joke and all I can say is their gaurd play will take them far. Does it seem like they are trying to honor Majerus???? man they are playing some team ball and Jim you are correct they won on the road against the 15 team in the country, with bad reffing. Mizzou needs to take the bull by the horns and do the same in Kentucky....that would be cool.
ozark trout fisher Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 Great win for SLU. Any remaining doubt about their tournament status is probably gone...now they can pretty much just spend the rest of the season continuing to improve and bringing up their seed as much as possible. The sweep of Butler is really impressive and it pretty much puts them in control as far as winning the regular season title in the Atlantic 10 goes. Amazing for a team that has gone through so much, and had some real low points this season (Rhode Island, Santa Clara.) They are a sleeper final four pick, in my opinion-if they can get decent match-ups in the tournament. The only teams that will most likely be able to take them down are ones that rely on very solid half-court offense and defense...so teams like Wisconsin, Michigan State, or pretty much any other elite team from the Big 10 would be tough for them, as they might be able to beat SLU at their own game. But teams that rely on athleticism and getting up and down the court will have all kinds of trouble with this team. Just ask VCU. Jim Crews probably needs to be considered for Coach of the Year (not to mention a multi-year contract!) As for the Missouri-Kentucky match-up tomorrow, that will be fun. Rupp arena will be tough for a team that struggles on the road, but Kentucky is just having a rough time of it now. The Nerlens Noel situation is pretty sad, and it seems to be really affecting them. Missouri should win handily, but given the way things have gone on the road so far I'd expect a close game that will go down the wire. Missouri is no longer in must win mode, but a good road win would probably lock up a tournament bid for good-and Missouri would be well served to remember that a quality tournament seed is still a possibility with a strong finish. So this is a pretty big game.
