Yes, that can be a VERY GOOD area to fish. Bass, crappie, and walleye.

I usually go in May and October, but I'm going the end of March this year, so I'll update you right before you come down. Ham and mixermarkb ( and others )post excellent reports from here, so keep your eye on this board. I also joined the Twin Lakes Walleye Club and get a lot of good info from them. Also if you want to try a guide, you cant beat Mike Worley. I went out with him for one day and learned what it would haven taken me 5 years to learn on my own.

Thanks for all the info! Going quail hunting outside of West Plains this weekend so we are going to drive over and check a few places out. Thanks again I will keep checking the boards.

We stayed at Oakland Marina last fall. The "cabins" (more like a row of motel rooms) aren't on the water but they are only about a 2 minute drive from the marina. Good rates too.

I stay at Theodosia Marina Resort when I go. Cookie's has great food, and the family that owns TMR, the Cooks, are really great people. It's not in the Oakland area, but if you are driving over from West Plains, it would be worth a stop to check out.
