Sunday morning was bad! We had to motor from Hummingbird Hideaway to the 62 bridge through lots of debris. The lake came up over 10' overnight!!! I think it has moved down below the bridges now but the water is way up! I think you can launch east of the 62 bridge but not 100%. Check on Facebook for" Norfork Lake Lovers" lots of pics. It is crazy how clear the Big Creek arm is right now.
Hummingbird hideaway and Blackburns have some pretty good fishing reports they are close to the Henderson bridge. Both of the guys fish alot and know what they are doing. We go every year around the 3 weekend of April and have good luck with bass on live bait and usually get on topwater early and late in the day. The guy at Handcove is not the friendliest guy I know! Lol
Fished Friday-Sunday. Had a great morning Friday then it slowed way down! Caught at least 30 that morning all largemouth except two Hybirds and two Spots. The bluff to the right Holiday Hills is where the shad were Friday early then they didn't show back up Saturday or Sunday. I guess it had to do with the full moon. IDK. Didn't catch many of live bait had to go with a craw out deeper.
I am up around Eden Isle a lot and I haven't seen that many shad around this year! I think the population is down. You can look at tournament results and that shows that the fishing is not good.
We where all set to go in the morning but the forecast is not looking good so we postponed! I hate looking forward to a trip and have to cancel right before!
I am going to Hummingbird Hideaway for the first time, the first week of April I will let you know how it is. We usually stay at Holiday Hills but they never answered the phone!
Thanks for all the info! Going quail hunting outside of West Plains this weekend so we are going to drive over and check a few places out. Thanks again I will keep checking the boards.
Me, my father, brother, and 3 of his boys. We are wanting to stay in Oakland somewhere on the water. If ya'll could give me some info on the best place to stay. We are going on April 5-7. Thanks
