Man I love Missouri, back to the days when I lived on campus and hung out with doug smith one night.....watching him ride around in his Datsun 280z with a moon roof and a racoon tail tied to his antena, not sure where he got it coming from the ghetto of Detroit but who cares. The top of his head would stick out of his His roof, he would smile and wave....they were great times.

It hurts me to see their team get led down the same path in close games like this but, they still have the SEC tourney they could win otherwise I don't think they are dancing unless they run the table on the remaining schedule.????

http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/conferences/standings/_/id/23/sec-conference

6th in the SEC and they have lost 6 out of the last 14 games all in the confrence.......Pressey's Allen Iverson imitaion at the end of games is killing them......I hope they can go on a roll, I really do but, they have been sucking me back in all year only to revert back it's tough.....but I love it....it's college basketball.March Madness is almost upon us.

How many teams will actually dance from the SEC???? I don't think 6

Missouri could finish behind teams like Alabama and Ole Miss in the standings, and get into the tournament ahead of them. This happens every year. Alabama once went 12-4 in the SEC and missed out on the NCAAs, while teams far behind them in the standings got in-because they played poorly out of conference. The selection committee doesn't really care about conference standings... And based the metrics that count, (RPI, strength of schedule, quality wins) Missouri is very clearly in the tournament barring a collapse. They aren't even on the bubble. It would take a 1-3 finish or a loss to South Carolina on Thursday for that to become something we have to think about.

This isn't just a Missouri fan being overly optimistic. There are quite a few sports analysts outlets that spend a whole lot of time predicting the tournament field...And in every single one I've seen, Missouri is safely in the tournament.

SLU having a rough time with Xavier tonight

Xavier's a tough place to play, even in a down year. Not a real bad loss, in RPI terms or otherwise, so no real cause for concern at this point. The selection committee shouldn't punish it too much seed-wise, and it's pretty obvious St. Louis is still locked in the tournament.

I doesn't change my belief that they have the potential to make a deep tournament run.

Cody Ellis- 0 for Cincinnati. Ouch. Tough loss. Xavier is a decent team, but.. SLU just wasn't that good tonight. Why were they chucking up threes tonight as if if they were 30 points down? You notice when Evans kicked it out, they tended to score. Just cause it goes in the paint, doesn't mean it always has to go up. Rob Loe continues to vex me. He is almost useless inside. Almost. No panic though. SLU is tough, and they lost in overtime, on the road, on senior night, in a tough place to play... so. Come home. Regroup. Beat LaSalle.

Yep, Cody Ellis was just painful to watch last night. Missing the first few got in his head, and each shot after that was farther and farther off the mark. And I agree, Evans especially seemed to be reading his press clippings about how he could score underneath against anybody, and kept trying to put it up against triple teams...geez, with three people around you, there has to be, um, two of your guys open somewhere.

give Xavier credit, they played SLU defense.

Yeah, watching that game was a bit painful. I think slu shot 31 percent and ellis built a house. they were due for a bad game, and they never quit even when it seemed xavier was pulling away.

Lasalle is 4th in the league. Did not know that. It'll be tough Saturday. Upon further review, Al, you are correct. Xavier gave SLU a taste of their own medicine. Getting to overtime on the road was, OK, at best. They didn't finish, though. Then tonight, look at the way Butler manhandled UMass. We have always had trouble at UMass. Go figure.

Really, though, I am very proud of my Bills. They are a good team who are a pleasure to watch, both defensively and offensively. A TEAM in the best sense of the word.

Side note: Am very dismayed at the dismissal of Bob McCormack at CBC high school. Over 400 wins. State Champ. Illustrious player at his school. Teacher. Another example of meddling alumni with money dissatisfied with a loss to DeSmet. ESPN culture scores another victory.

They need to find a way to beat LaSalle to lock up the A-10 title. Won't be easy...LaSalle is still not 100% sure about making the tournament so they'll come out playing hard. And they have beaten Butler and VCU already. St. Louis still wins at home though.

If VCU loses, and LaSalle beats SLU, there will be a three way tie for first place. And a critical bye in the first round of the conference tournament. So, you bet LaSalle will come out smoking. A meaningful Saturday afternoon game at Chaifetz, with the MVC tournament down the street. Might be a good time to head to midtown St. Louis and spend a decadent Saturday watching hoops and maybe, just maybe, do a little drinking. This March Madness thing only comes once a year.
