this will be a good post! After many, many years, and trying most everything as it came out, and the flouros for several years, I use 12lb Berkley Big Game clear or 15lb Big Game green. That way I know what line is on which reel. I still have a big rig with braid for frog fishing. I learned a long time ago that line is just a connection to the lure. The main thing is don't use too heavy of a line that effects your presentation. Fishing line costs have gotten way out of line(just like rods, reels, and boats) because of what the "pros" use. I respool when I want to and don't even worry about it with Big Game.

Seagar Floro ONLY! Have for many years now and never had a problem or need to try something else. Calcuttas are spooled with 12lb Stradics are spooled with 10lb and Sahara's are 6lb. That how i know what is on what.

Do you not find that since fluoro sinks it effects the action of your top water lures? I love Seagar line both invizx and abrazx, but use McCoy for top water and spinning gear. I do like the extra clear lines.

For a cheaper line, I like Stren original clear.

I like to use low vis green unless im night fishing. I use excell on most everything Ive used those expensive floro and I really see no difference at all between them and mono I catch just as many fish as the pros do and I dont use the fancy line but I do believe in the expensive rods and good reels thats really all u need is good rods and reels

cmpared to $8 for Big Game. Can you really justify the difference? You don't fish for money. Just asking how you justify it.

It gets me more bites, it holds up to harsh trolling conditions when im thumping the rocks hard and that same toughness puts more fish in the boat. The object of fishing is to catch fish for money or pleasure it is the same goal, I swore when I was first starting out I would find the gear I wanted not settling on what I can afford but to work hard and get to a place where money was not a factor. So over the years I have tried many lines, rods, reels etc and found which ones IMO worked best and now I am at the point I worked hard to be at and can now enjoy the rewards of it. So the Justification is 27 years working to get to this point.
