Finally Have Found My New Jet

Recommended Posts

I ditto what Al Said!

I am planning on upgrading my current hull to a 1652 from Joe. He recommended the Blazer hull for me and my tiller steer Honda 50/35... I am going to be back in the USA next week and plan on meeting with him to discuss layout etc. Based on several recommendations I am also going to contact Ernie's Sales and Service to see what they can offer.

Heck of a boat. Your not going to give up your paddle boats for small water are you?

His father touches the Claw in spite of Kevin's warnings and breaks two legs just as a thunderstorm tears the house apart. Kevin runs away with the Claw. He becomes captain of the Greasy Bastard, a small ship carrying rubber goods between England and Burma. Michael Palin, Terry Jones, 1974

Never Greasy!!!!! I truly love to float and wade for that matter first but, I have been mulling this purchase now for over two years ........just ask Mitch F or MoSmallies :have-a-nice-day:

There are times where I get extremely jealous not having a jet.....very childish on my part......I have a decent boat sitting in the garage I can't ever get out right now and that is my wifes argument.......she just wants me to get a boat that I will use..............I really need a jet

I almost bought this package at the boat show from Joe Troutt http://trouttandsons.com/AquaBoss2/aq-show.php?listid=134435798331728&page=3&p=5&s=make ASC

probally should have as he just raised the price on me to $11,100.....he would have sold it two weeks ago for $10,500, could have had my sales tax money ready.

I'm torn as to what to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I suck at this

Does anyone have an opinion on the Yamaha 40/29 on the 16x52 .80 gauge Express..............my wife is pushing for that....she likes Yamahas??????????????? lol

Its all cool, just buy a boat you like and use the crap out of it. My boat is like lumbering scow compared to the jets most folks use but I love it.

I can't wait! George and I better be there for the christening!

dung....the fact that you would want your brand new baby boy near my new jet is why I love you bro.......we are going to make sure that kid is the biggest river fishing freak anyone has ever seen......I just can't wait to get him out on a creek somewhere and get him hooked up with an older woman....ie Emily :have-a-nice-day: also George is going to be our great excuse to get out on the river to Jackie and Kate.....nice

Do the math on your weight to HP. A 40/29 will effectively plane up to about 1,000lbs. Need to calculate boat weight, Fuel, Gear, accessories and passengers.

Approximate weight of Hull/Engine/2 Batteries/Fuel = 750lbs - that doesn't leave much for passengers/gear/trolling motor ect....

Chris is an expert on OutBoard Jet's and wrote this article several year ago.

I have made the mistake of under powering and it sucks...

Oh Yeah, I would also plan to add an aluminum floor to that boat. As clumsy as I am it is a requirement for my boat!!!!

Oh Al.....don't feel bad the rock you hit along with all of the others there have really done a number sooo many jets in that first 150 yards below Sand Ford....very tough spot there.....when you go thru that spot with Mitch Fields it's white knuckler

There are usually a few spots on any river that will white knuckle you.... if you're not afraid, you probably shouldn't be using a jet boat.

The key is slowing down just enough to still remain on plane with a shallow draft so if you do hit a rock, it's not a disaster. I like to sit up higher to get more of a birds eye view so it's easier to spot rocks and logs. The worst combination is going downstream with the sun in your face because of the reflection of waves as they pass over the rocks in a riffle. It's just harder in that case to see the best route.

Wear your boats scars like a badge of honor.
