motoman Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Yep, that is definitely the right path. Dotting gives more defined edges. Did not get to pics today. Will PM some to you so as not to run this thread into the ground. - Run this thread into the ground Dave; post some pix!:-).......I'd love to see them myself.:-)
mixermarkb Posted March 17, 2013 Author Posted March 17, 2013 Me too! When I get my custom paints back I'll post a few pics too. I wish I had the patience to paint them myself like you guys. Great work!
mixermarkb Posted March 21, 2013 Author Posted March 21, 2013 Got my custom painted warts today, I can't wait to throw these! Larry Chilton from Oscar's Custom Lures did a beautiful job. I almost don't want to start grinding them off of rocks! The colors are Watermelon Red Craw, and PBJ Craw in the first pic. The second pic is version of Phantom Green Craw with purple that I'm suggesting he call Table Rock Craw, and his Olive Craw.
troutgnat Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 WOW, that is some awesome work! True artistry. So, grind em' off the rocks, get em' chewed on by some big ole' LM's and then have painted again! Alex Heitman Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 Purple is what gets the smallies! Awesome colors on those warts.
Members Chunk Rock Posted March 22, 2013 Members Posted March 22, 2013 good lookin warts!!.. the phantom green is awesome!!
duckydoty Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 Those look fantastic. Do any of you guys use the mag warts? We use them a lot in Alaska for kings. Boxes and boxes full of old ones, probably 1500 to 2000 of them that are in need of repainting. One or two big kings on a lure and the paint is destroyed. I havent used the Mag Wart but, it catches plenty of fish apparently. Thats crazy that you've got 2000 of them in need of repaint. Does that mean theyre scuffed or totally ripped down to the white plastic? You should post a couple pics of the ugliest specimens!
