troutgnat Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Alright dts and Trophy I know you guys paint some awesome baits. I would love to see more of your work. Let's entertain this thread with some painted original warts. I'm a newbie, I would love to see some real talent. Would you mind sharing some of your pride and joy? troutgnat Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Wow! I just got the willies looking at those. Love it, Love it! Darren Sadler "Fishing is an Education...Often the fish 'school' me, yet I do not complain. I just keep going to class!"
dtrs5kprs Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Will see about some more pics tomorrow. Toothpicks just popped out my eyelids. Might be a hint.
Quillback Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Some base phantom bodies without any detail as yet (actually these have been in this stage for a few years, have a bin full of them). Keep the paint super thin with extra transparent medium, and the PSI up. Should shoot like pure color without any paint to it. One color they never did make in phantom was a red craw. IMG_7081.JPG That Watermelon red flake looks killer! I like the idea of a phantom red craw also.
troutgnat Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Nice color schemes Trophy. I've got to figure out that speckle look you got going on. Darren Sadler "Fishing is an Education...Often the fish 'school' me, yet I do not complain. I just keep going to class!"
troutgnat Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Here's my phantom series I've painted....... -Phantom green/blue -phantom brown/orange -phantom green pumpkin -phantom hot tomato craw Darren Sadler "Fishing is an Education...Often the fish 'school' me, yet I do not complain. I just keep going to class!"
troutgnat Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Here are some non phantom colors that I've done: -a modified copy of the SP-90 Missouri Craw -Peach Orchard Craw -Brown Trout -Peanut Butter/Jelly Darren Sadler "Fishing is an Education...Often the fish 'school' me, yet I do not complain. I just keep going to class!"
Guest Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Nice color schemes Trophy. I've got to figure out that speckle look you got going on. 5-10lb PSI and flicking the handle on that dual action airbrush. Its a splatterback technique with transparent colors mixed with opaque.
