-Peanut Butter/Jelly

Im digging that top right color with the green and khaki.

I use an exacto knife to shave off the factory eyes,

then replace them with 3D eyes right before clearcoating.

Its kinda a pain, but so is painting the eyes.

Its a trade-off.

Dot your eyes and any spots with a pencil eraser. Take several, and sand them to the various diameters you expect to need. Easiest way to add dots and spots. With createx it will sort of "smush" out around the edge, and fill in the wart eye area just abut perfectly.

Nice color schemes Trophy. I've got to figure out that speckle look you got going on.

You can also splatter with a toothbrush dipped in your color. Flick it at the bait, or run your finger across the bristles to make the paint splatter onto the bait. Trophy's answer on the low psi required to splatter is spot on.

Thanks Trophy. That's the one I named my peach orchard craw. Don't let that cat out of the bag, it works! That one's earned me some good days on the Rock :) I wanted to achieve a little brighter olive color that wasn't phantom. It's painted on one of the good ole' white baits not clear. It's dynamite in a little stained, not muddy water.

Dtrs and Trophy. Thanks for the great tips, much appreciated. Dtrs I'll throw this one at ya. I buy lots of those cheap plastic paint brushes from the Wal-Mart art department to brush on my epoxy top coat. I have several that I have cut off at different diameters(the brush handles are perfectly tapered for this). This is what I used for my eyes and dots. As you said, barely dip in the paint and touch it to the bait and "bam" you have a perfect round eye. Then you can use a smaller diameter brush handle for the pupil. A lot of warts I've airbrushed the eyes but I hand paint a lot of my eyes with this technique on my baitfish patterns.

Yep, that is definitely the right path. Dotting gives more defined edges. Did not get to pics today. Will PM some to you so as not to run this thread into the ground.
