Terrierman Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 add darkness and freezing temps to that equation= recipe for disaster I used to duck hunt on the Missouri. No disasters, just used common sense.
Feathers and Fins Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Water is a like a Demolition Derby to people! I see people everyday that do not even know their is rules to boating they just get in and do what they want because there are no lines to stay in. I have been waked so many times its pathetic. Seen people cutting over very shallow bars and rip out their lower unit even though its clearly marked. Most dangerous conditions can be avoided by slowing down and giving others respect as well as NOT DRINKING! Its like on Beaver after a heavy rain, why do people run wide open early morning before light or wide open at night. You known the rain washes things out yet people still do it and then hit the debris. Makes no since to me at all. Guest Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 F&F, It's seems more and more experienced anglers are relying on their gps to guide them in the dark and thru fog. I guess they haven't seen the Allstate commercial about trusting Tom-Tom devices. States should require a boaters license before getting behind the wheel. The fact that there's no lines makes it more dangerous. The state police should setup at the 12 bridge and ticket those who disregard the no wake buoys and shallow water hazard buoys. At least the word would get out and stop a few of the idiots.
Feathers and Fins Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Police to patrol 12 bridge and Is the one place I see them writing tickets... Hey just be glad we don't have Manatee's here... AND BEFORE Justin says a word one I am admitting nothing in regards to them... But hear they taste great with mashed taters https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
UnCivE Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 I've had a couple really close calls on LOZ during tournaments because people drive like morons (especially people in big boats). I'm sure Ike was flying, and he made a mistake, stuff happens.
