Members JMBC Posted March 24, 2013 Members Posted March 24, 2013 There is enough younger people taught to release fish the few that i catch wont hurt anything. I was taught you go fishing to eat. Just expressing an opinion
Members Nitro-Bob Posted March 24, 2013 Members Posted March 24, 2013 I Catch & Release into Grease. Whites are delicious if cleaned up properly.
Justin Spencer Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 I love eating them too, if I'm catching ton's I'll toss the females back, but I'll also keep them if fishing's slow. If people are upset about keeping white bass then what can we keep? ozarkgunner Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 Plus one Justin. Throw the Smallies and big trout back. Men need to kill a few fish from time to time. Angler At Law
fishinwrench Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 Alot of folks do tend to get greedy when it comes to Whites. Just because the legal daily limit is 15 doesn't mean you have to load the freezer every time you find a school that is biting the way that whites are famous for. They really aren't like mushrooms where you had better "get them while you can". If you learn a bit more about them youll find that you can catch them all year....not just when they are on spawning runs, so there's really no need to hammer them so hard during the Spring so you can still have whites to eat in August. They eat best fresh

ozarkgunner Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 Most people don't catch whites other than in April and May . Consider it a population preservation device. Very few if any fish for them July-sept. Angler At Law

stuartsx5 Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 I am looking for a place to fish next Monday and Tuesday. My brother is coming up from Texas for our annualy fishing trip. We normally take my boat up to Lake of the Ozarks and crappie fish. I am afraid with the cold weather this week the fish won't be bitin up there. I don't think my boat is good for fishing in the James so I was curious if there is a good place to fish from the bank. I have fed more people white bass than any other fish and they always leave satisfied, I love catchin em and eatin em. Earl Stuart fishin is livin
