LittleRedFisherman Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 After both our wifes telling us we where crazy, my buddy Chad and I headed to the River this morning. We haven't been up here in over a month, and thought we needed some aqua therapy before we start putting in 80 plus hour weeks before long when corn planting starts, which could be awhile as long as it's this cold. It was spitting snow once we entered Missouri, and my truck showed it to be 25, and a guy on the radio said there was an 18 degree windchill. We had a pretty good day of fishing, at least a half day anyways, the first two hours of the day was colder than a welldigger, but we did manage to catch some smallmouth during this time. I started out pretty hot with my new Megabass I bought about a month ago, Chad was using a KVD, but the Megabass outcaught it 3 to one early on. I even caught a double on it, two 15 inchers on the same lure, that was a treat for sure! I saw the other one flash, so i let the fish that was caught run a little bit and hooked the other one, which was very cool! Chad went to a jig and float and did pretty well doing that for awhile. I caught one on a flyrod, but the 30 mph gusts at times didn't bode well for my 5wt, so basically stuck with the jerkbait. After the smallmouth got lockjaw, we tried another stretch and managed to catch a few goggleye. It was very cold, but was fairly productive, especially at first. I hope next time I go it's a little warmer!! There's no such thing, as a bad day fishing!

LittleRedFisherman Posted March 26, 2013 Author Posted March 26, 2013 you make me sick! great report, wish I could have gone today. Thanks Cody, maybe you can get your rig lined out! We didn't catch any monsters, think 16 incher was the big one today, but caught several around that size. Don't feel bad, my time is coming where my boat will probably set up for all of spring until planting is over.... There's no such thing, as a bad day fishing!
Smalliebigs Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Sweet pics!!!!! you sure know had to make a man feel like crap......can't wait for the rivers here to calm down and rise in temps a tad. The double pics are nice and that Mega Bass bait is a killer if they are on it......very nice report....good for you
dtrs5kprs Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Nice brown fish and beautiful water. Hard to beat that!

I have to say, I was making fun of myself for paying that much for a lure, but it does have some great action, very impressed. There's no such thing, as a bad day fishing!
gotmuddy Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 those 110's are hard to beat. I have 4 or 5 that I guard with my life. everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
Mitch f Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Have you had any luck with the 110 plus? "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
LittleRedFisherman Posted March 26, 2013 Author Posted March 26, 2013 Have you had any luck with the 110 plus? I caught more fish yesterday on the standard 110, but did catch some on the plus one. The plus one does go alot deeper, and has pretty good action, but to me it didn't have the action that the standard 110 had, the price of having a big bill on the front I guess, but it still looked good!
